my speaker volume is very quite (about a low library talking voice, cant make out words from about 7-8 feet away)
this phone seems to boast about it's audio abilities and its 'beats audio' but in my opinion i really blows...

whats your opinion? can it be just my phone?

Are you talking about when you are in a call and have the speaker phone on? If so, yes, I experienced this along with complaints that receivers could hear their own echo when they talked. I switched back to my old Samsung Transform Ultra and issue resolved, volume is now loud again, and even all the way up the receiver can not hear themselves.

The volume at full blast is half that of the old STU.... So my theory now is HTC knew they had a speaker phone echo issue and limited the max volume on speaker in calls.

However when i would watch a video, or listen to radio/music, folume was very loud.

P.S. beats does not work on this phone unless you are using headphones of some type. Blue Tooth or Wire. you can try to enable them during speaker mode in the settings menu under sound, but they say 'feature is unavailable unless using headphones' or something like that.

I really wanted to try another phone, but I don't think many people use this phone as a speaker phone or with blue tooth headsets (echo is there as well with BT, but the call volume can be increased. once I increased the call volume it was even worse. Again STU no problems)

I bought 2 of these phone (one for me & one for my wife)...Wife was shopping, and I sent her a text--she did not hear the text...Further investigation on her phone revealed that all volumes were on max, and the ringtones, text notify, etc. were all quiet in spite.

I messed around with the phone...Went into the Music player and started playing a song. While it was playing, used the volume keys to turn it up. The music volume increased so it was similar to my phone. After doing that, the ring tone, notification tones, etc all were *MUCH* louder.

Wondering if there is a subtle glitch with the phone's volume controls, etc.? See if this helps your phone "get louder"
