Root NexBeast ESE53 Keyboard

I'm currently running Cyanogen 5.0.5.7, does anyone know of a way to take the keyboard from the first NexBeast and use it with this ROM?

Install Jrummy's remix, it has the same theme, including the keyboard. It also adds the HQ YouTube tweak, and a ton of scripts that let you customize your phone.

Thanks, I give that a try, I'm running the Nextheme right now and love it, and I have already added the HQ YouTube.apk, doing a nandroid as we speak.

Thanks, I tried that, I like the keyboard, I don't like the theme. I'm using the NexTheme, I just like the other keyboard better.

That's what I was hoping to do but I'm not sure where the keyboard app is at, or what it's named. I have searched using Root Explorer and I'm not sure what file it is.

If anyone knows what file it is I will try switching them.

Is it the HTC keyboard you're looking for? If so, there's a link to where you can find the files in the OP of the NexBeast thread. If you want to get it out of the /system/app files of JRummy's remix (I haven't looked to see if the HTC keyboard is what that has), it's, I believe, Clicker.apk and HTC_IME.apk.

I don't think it's the HTC, it's all black and the keys do not have space's between them. Give me a few minutes and I will flash a ROM that has the one I'm looking for and post a pic.

Is there a VoiceSearchwithKeyboard.apk in the /system/app directory of JRummy's remix? If so, it may be a themed version of that keyboard, and that would be the one you want.

EDIT: I downloaded and extracted JRummy's remix. There are two keyboard files that I found: LatinIME.apk and VoiceSearchwithKeyboard.apk. It should be one of those.

This is the one I'm looking for. The blue ring is from the JRummy ROM, I don't care if it is there or not.

I just looked through /system/app in the original NexBeast. The only keyboard file I found in there was VoiceSearchWithKeyboard.apk, so I think that's it.

I can change almost everything on this phone right down to the font but can't change the keyboard. Oh well time to get back to work. I'll have to try more when I get home tonight.

That's just the NexTheme keyboard. Can't you just download 5.0.5.7 themed with NexTheme?

Or, if you JUST want the keyboard, you can download the NexTheme metamorph and only apply the VoiceSearchWithKeyboard.apk theme.

I have only been rooted for about a month but have read and done a lot in that month.

Even better I pulled the one from NexBeast because the key's on the one from JRummy's Remix change to blue when pressed.
