I just put a 16gb microsdhc card in my Note2. It is at least 3 yrs old.

1. Is there a way to format it in the Note2?
2. Is there a way to check its speed? It doesn't specify on the card.
3. How do you choose to record photos and videos to either internal memory or the card?

Thanks.

Yes. Go into Settings>Storage and select Format SD card.

I think there is a benchmarking app for android, but not sure. Haven't bothered with it for some reason. You can check speed class of the card by looking for a number within a circle on the card itself. That should give you a rough idea.

3. How do you choose to record photos and videos to either internal memory or the card?
Go into the camera app and go into its settings. Scroll through the camera settings until you see storage. Select Memory card.
