Would you buy your Nexus again or get the Incredible?

I'm getting the Incredible. I can't have a defective phone that'll tie up $500+ dollars, we know about the design and hardware flaws of the Nexus One and they're pretty serious to me. I don't know if the Droid Incredible will have the same flaws, but I hope not.

Anyway, the Nexus One on VZN seems to be comparable to bigfoot now, it might exist... there are some fuzzy evidence out there, but no one has seen it with their own two eyes yet. ;-)

One of my favorite features of the N1 is the active noise suppression using the 2nd microphone and special chip. Really works well. Last I heard, the Incredible will not have that feature.

Sense is not a big deal to me. The Beautiful Widgets app dresses up the phone nicely, and personally I don't feel the need for Sense. I also like the fact that the unadulterated Android on the Nexus will probably be top priority for updates.

All in all, though, I think the differences between these phones are small. Honestly, I'd probably base it more on carrier preference than the phone itself.

A biggie also for the Incredible to support for Exchange Active Sync. While I love the N1 and use Touchdown, having native support for A/S is huge. We'll see what AT&T comes out with, Desire??? N1 is awesome though, my friends with iPhones are blown away by the N1's screen.

No, I haven't owned one because the device isn't out on the VZN network yet... I would have thought you would understand that if you've been reading all my posts.

And it's not a "small number of issues." If you bothered to read my other posts (like you said you have), you'd see it's many issues that have been plaguing the phone. If you don't believe me then I implore you to check the Phandroid article (if you don't like Phandroid, why are you even here?) and check the official Google Android forums; in fact, you can also check the Android development forums as well and you will see it is the problem of the Nexus One--don't defend what you do not understand. And here's what was posted by Phandroid:

4) WIFI connectivity issue*

Uh, you do realize that EVERY electronic device on the market has a list of "issues". Good luck in finding a Perfect phone. I have a friend who is on her third iPhone for cracked screens. And virtually every device with a screen (including the new iPad) has reports of dust under the screen.

It's important to put things in perspective. It helps if you actually live with the device for awhile. I don't constantly troll the forums looking for the latest "issue" to assign to my phone. I just enjoy my phone; the best damn phone on the market today, if you ask me. And I HAVE lived with it.

1st off, your clearly not understanding my main point. i dont care how many links you pull up (which by the way dropping your phone and cracking the screen is not a faulty of the device), the fact remains that it is still a small fraction of nexus one owners who experience any issues. every phone ever produced has issues, people get lemons, and software problems sometimes occur, it happens, go to any phone forum and tell me there arent issues reported. the first line in your original post said "im getting the incredible", really, is that so? your willing to commit to buying a phone that hasnt even been released yet? btw, i dont read all your posts, everytime your name happens to come up in a thread that im reading, its always some nonsense bashing the nexus one for hardware failures, or some bogus issue. with all the critic reading you do, it makes me wonder how you ever ponied up the confidence to even buy a computer, or any consumer product for that matter. what your doing is like me going to a ford mustang forum and convincing people not to buy a mustang because i read on the internet that they break down and are unreliable. stop turning people off from a device you've never owned

Fortunately V/N1 took forever to release, giving me the option to get Incredible. I agree with QrafTee, the N1 has more issues than an a new phone should have, and with all the new options available in Inc. you'd be an idiot not to get it.

A couple points. Neither phone can currently install to external storage. That 8 gigs of internal storage is for all practical purposes the same thing as external storage on the N1 and you will not be able to install to it unless you root or wait for the froyo update which rumor says, may add it. Whether it comes at that time is uncertain in my mind until Google confirms it but they have confirmed it is in the cards eventually. This is a piracy prevention tactic BTW and the market will also be updated at that time with external storage support.

The incredible will be better out of the box for business use, down the road they will probably both end up in the same place. An important point for some because the N1 is woefully inadequate in terms of outlook support.

Were it me I would carefully consider how well I like sense. It will be a while before a fully functioning stable sense port is available on the N1.

I have never owned a phone that didnt have some issues. There is always something and I fully expect the incredible to have some flaws. Not hacking on the incredible, just seems hard for a relatively small group of testers to find all the flaws that a million owners will expose. I wont mention any names or someone might think I am badmouthing nokia, (oops hehe) but my N1 has not a fraction of the flaws I have had with another brand.

Well, I personally like the idea of the Nexus One. I like the idea that google sells it independently and like the idea of getting upgrades sooner.

What I don't like is the fact they are taking so long to release the phone on Verizon. After all is said and done I need a phone that I can trust is gonna work where I'm at. I've had no luck with any other provider other than Verizon. I live in the country and spend my time in the country and ATT, TMo, Sprint, etc just doesn't work well for me.

So.......

What are my options? Wait indefinitely for Verizon and Google to release the phone or get the Incredible? I'll have to go with the Incredible, I can't wait for them to make up their mind on whether they're gonna release it or not.

I'm glad you clicked the third or fourth link, but the first and second didn't include "drops," I believe. It just happened to spontaneously crack... that should not occur with any device. I wasn't happy to hear of exploding iPhone batteries either; no device should surprise you by dying out of the blue.

Well if you don't read all my post then you don't know the facts. So don't put yourself out there and infer about me if you don't have all the facts. You should watch yourself more carefully because personal attacks are frowned upon in this community.

yes, your entitled to your own opinion, but its just that, YOUR personal opinion. every post ive ever read from you is expressing strong distate towards the nexus one. its as if you try to turn people away from purchasing the device the way you only express the negative issues that a consumer MIGHT experience. theres no doubt, the nexus one is one of the best android devices out at the moment if not the best, sure it has flaws like all devices but thats all you do is constantly bring up its flaws. therefore anyone you give purchasing advice to will likely share that same distate, rather than them buying the phone and trying it out for themselves, there is a 14 day window to return the device you know. you have a point about not being able to swap the phone conveniently in store in the case something goes wrong, however its not like your stuck with a broken device, you simply send it back to htc for a new one. i previously had an iphone 3gs that i had numerous issues with, however i wouldnt go into an iphone forum and tell people not to buy it because it has X,Y,Z issues. theres alot of great features that i do miss with the iphone, but overall im pleased with my nexus one, and only see it becoming more of a joy to own with future updates (which the n1 will surely be the first to get). incredible looks good on paper but we'll see how it does when its released, but i assure you there will certainly be people with issues, like all devices, it happens.

and a $70 tb probably is only 5400 rpm, 7200 for the win

memory cards are slow cuz people buy the cheapest, get a class 6 i promise it's fast

A solid state has a lot more technology than internal flash memory in a cell phone would.

I got a 1tb Hitashi off newegg for $70 shipped before christmas and it is 7200. I'm sure they have as good as or better deals now. Also, 7200 is the suck compared to a ssd. SSD + win7 FTW

My main point is that everyone keeps asking for more features on a phone when they are almost pointless with the little memory you can have. A music player with 16gb max? A 720p video player with hdmi out with just 16gb? If ipods have so much memory for their price these days we should be able to get a phone with more than 512mb memory (or 8gb).

me personally returned the Droid Eris just so i can get a Nexus One when it comes to sprint, i was leaving sprint for Verizon at first but when Sprint came out with that 69.99 unlimted web,data and any mobile number, i had to stay with Sprint even though i want to go with Verizon, Verizon plans just suck compared to the competition, but the Incredible makes me want to go back with Verizon anyway, im so confused at the moment

How many "kids" do you think own this phone? Anyway, I've only known of one phone that had excellent speakerphone (Droid), so I didn't expect much here--not even from the Droid Incredible.

I have heard of this prior to the Phandroid report, but it seems to affect all phones for some reason. The aux port seems to get loose over time--or maybe the aux input rubber rings wear down.

And you're wrong again. I don't take all "faults" as bad. Some are isolated incidents, but some are serious issues (the ones I've mentioned over and over again): Dust under screen, Touchscreen sensor, and Cracking screen. I don't count 3G because I still fairly believe that is T-Mobile's fault.

Am I supposed to sit in the back of the bus too? Am I also bound to the land? Am I also restricted to the non-Whites restrooms? No? I didn't think so.

Ive been playing with the incredible for a couple days now and so far I do like it; not really planning to give up my nexus one since I will never go to VZ.

The screen interaction feels a lot "smoother" when navigating menus and icons, the battery has held up pretty good and I really do like the track pad; it's very functional.

I think all of these devices are steps in the right direction; but noone has managed to combine them all into a single killer package.

Also, the speed is pretty good it feels extremely snappy and with the network it screams; I would probably guess it would outperform my Nexus one even with similar specs (on web tests).

Also, the speed is pretty good it feels extremely snappy and with the network it screams; I would probably guess it would outperform my Nexus one even with similar specs (on web tests).

I don't think we should get riled up that quickly. Wait until it's released. I already feel like crud in getting the Eris when the Droid was out. Now this. Before this, it was the N1 in between the Droid guilt and now, the Incredible guilt. Should have waited, but it was my first smartphone.

Now, I'd be lucky to get $200 for the Eris, which means another $300 for the Incredible. As an unemployed student (I feel crap about that to begin with) another $300 is gonna be hard to come by and probably isn't worth it at this point. The EVO 4G comes out as well, albeit on Sprint, and that will have the 720P output and all that other jazz.

There was a bitchfight in the Eris section about this, but is the Incredible coming out with fully clocked at 1Ghz or will it be underclocked to 768 or whatever Snapdragons are underclocked at?

What's the N1 at?

The Droid Incredible and the Nexus One supposedly runs at the stock 1Ghz. This works against the Droid Incredible though considering Sense UI supposedly uses more power and it comes with a slightly lower capacity battery compared to the Nexus One.

Fortunately V/N1 took forever to release, giving me the option to get Incredible. I agree with QrafTee, the N1 has more issues than an a new phone should have, and with all the new options available in Inc. you'd be an idiot not to get it.
