That would explain why they slammed on the brakes. My town is an unofficial launch. I bet they scaled back so they could meet the timelines on the official towns.

I was up in Charlotte last week, spotty at best for me. Kept losing lte coverage.

To add to the list, South Carolina; Spartanburg, Anderson, Gaffney

Those speeds won't exist once there is some traffic on the network. I'm anticipating anywhere between 5 - 10 mbps on downlink.

I don't seeing as lte 800 and 2500 will be implemented as well which vzw don't have which will help speeds stay up and consistent.

It's really not a matter of the spectrum they use, but the carriers used by that spectrum. Sprint is only doing a 5x5 deployment vs. VZW/AT&T's 10x10 (in many markets, but not all). That alone will limit the throughput we could achieve on downlink/uplink. I think theoretical maximum is like 30/15.

That's true but sprint makes up for 5x5 by having lte on every tower unlike vzw and att.

That is true, but it doesn't make a difference until we have the dense network coverage up and running, which likely won't happen until 800 spectrum has become active.

Any members here seeing 4G-LTE in the above listed markets yet?

It's weird that the above list has Contra Costa County as a market in California. That makes no sense. I am in Alameda County which borders Contra Costa County. We are all part of the San Francisco-Peninsula-East Bay-North Bay-South Bay Area. Contra Costa County is part of the East Bay (Oakland, Alameda, Berkeley, El Cerrito, Hayward, San Leandro, Richmond, San Pablo, El Sobrante, etc.). It makes no sense that one of the Bay Area counties would get LTE launch without San Francisco and Oakland seeing launch at the same time since allegedly we are at 54% completion in the San Francisco-Oakland market. The North Bay has lauched but that is more than just one county.

I live in Oakland and work in Berkeley. I can assure you that we don't have launch here. 3G is still as pathetic as ever and LTE is only occasionally seen popping up here and there.

It would be interesting to hear from any customers in Richmond, El Sobrante, San Pablo, Concord, Bay Point, Walnut Creek, Pleasanton, Clayton, etc. (Contra Costa County) to see if anything has actually launched there. I would be very pleasantly surprised.

Okay so while at work today sprint sent me this auto text message and iv never received any information from sprint about my area and the service. I do not currently have 4g lte in erie, pa and when you click the link it goes on to say they are building a new network in my area to enhance the 3g network and to also bring new 4g lte service but erie, pa is not listed on their 4g lte list of cities not even as a future 4g lte city so has anyone else ever recieved a random sprint text like this? Cause if this means 4g lte could be coming to erie, pa that would be amazing cause quite frankly it sucks paying $10 a month for nothing and I'm not going all the way to philly or pittsburgh for 4g no thanks!!!!

If you have 3G in your area, you are likely going to get LTE. However, the timetable of that arriving is unknown. It's quite possible that Sprint has AlcaLu, Ericsson, or Samsung working on 3G clusters in your area, but that doesn't mean LTE is rolling out there at the time.

The Sprint coverage map shows that I am in the middle of a 4G LTE zone - but the phone shows only '3G' (or WiFi when that is on). The phone is set for "LTE/CDMA" and "Connections Optimizer" is checked.

I guess that mapping folk are ahead of the folk who turn on the system's functionality.
