any lakers fans here?

I would try to shop Gasol & see what I could get. If he doesn't get the ball like he wants, which he won't w/ Howard in the middle, I could see locker room drama happening real quick. Kobe has a hard enough time playing for / respecting Mike Brown he doesn't need Gasol crying in his ear. Do they really even need him anymore ( Gasol ) anyway ?

well i think that gasol is more of a power forward then center anyways. he is more like tim duncan who plays better at forward then center. i think he will be fine with nash getting the ball to him. to be honest i think that the drama has left when bynum left. gonna be exciting now that we have a full season to play with a full training camp to gel together.

LOOK OUT OKC HERE WE COME:D

yeah you guys got a pretty good deal as well. maybe it will be lakers/sixers final?:D

Well, there's a team in South Beach and our old (and yours too) nemesis the Celtics. The Bulls will stuggle if Rose is out till March. Also, Indiana is a tough team now. So, those 4 teams would be our biggest competition.

I say we are at best, the #2 team in the East, realistically, 4th.

Sixers-Lakers would be nice but I think it will be Heat-Lakers in the 2013 Finals

that would be a nice match up, but i HATE the heat. sorry heat fans but i do.

not really an expert on the eastern teams, but i think the celtics are too old now. the bulls could be up there. pacers are young but getting good. curious on both the nicks and nets. but i like what philly has done. like i said gonna be a fun year that is for sure.

The combination of talent and that coaches style of play just doesn't mesh. Let's be honest, Dwight and Kobe aren't fast break type players.

sorry but i disagree with kobe. kobe is a scorer. it does not matter if it is on the fastbreak or not, he will score. i mean he had 40pts while he had the flu!!!!!!! who does that?

once we get nash and blake back, the team will be back together and everything should be fine. this team i think is not built for the regular season, but wait til they get to the playoffs.

I bleed purple and gold. When I lived out of state, I paid extra to have NBA League Pass on DirecTV so I could watch the Lakers as if I were back here in LA. Thank goodness I had that option, because otherwise I would've missed out on many years of the incomparable, golden throat Chick Hearn calling the games. (RIP, Chick.)

I'm extremely upset and unhappy about how Little Buss is handling the team. When Dr Buss was calling the shots--even when I disagreed with him--I knew that, *gasp*, he actually knew more than I did about professional basketball. So I'd be pissed, like when they chose to send Shaq packing rather than risk losing Kobe [who was acting like a spoiled brat], but I'd get over it eventually. Now? OMFG. I am beyond pissed off at the way the Lakers had Phil Jackson *THIS* close to being back, and then unceremoniously blew him off and hired D'Antoni instead. If Phil had come back, even in light of the injuries thus far (Nash, Gasol, etc.), I think we'd be doing MUCH better.

And how ironic is it to watch the Clippers...the CLIPPERS for heaven's sake...rolling like they are right now? Whoever thought that people would be talking about Los Angeles basketball, the best team in the league, a 17-game winning streak, etc., and NOT be talking about the Lakers?

i'm right there with you. been quietly seething right now. and i think we should change D'Antoni to just Antoni. there is no D in his defense. I think if we put mike brown's emphasis on d and d'antoni's offense we would be a pretty good team.

we need to play jamison more as we need a more solid bench then what we have now.

and yes the clippers are insane!!!!!!. i hate them cuz my friend has been a die hard clipper fan (not really sure why). now i get to hear it every time i talk to him:mad:

I LOVE that. It's absolutely brilliant. :D

Just think if Phil had come back. We wouldn't have to talk about combining different coaches' skills.

I'm glad he finally spoke up the other day about being unhappy being benched. I don't get DNPing a player who's doing well, AND has the experience Jamison does. It's not like he has nothing to bring if on the court, so why on earth has Antoni ;) DNPed him? It really doesn't make sense.

Ha ha, I can just imagine! Don't fret, though. All you have to do is ask, "So...HOW many titles do the Clippers have?" or "HOW many statues represent the Clippers outside Staples Center?" or "HOW many NBA records have the Clippers set?"

ok bringing my old thread back.......watching the lakers play as we speak and man i do not know if they can win this series without kobe.......i mean they will have to learn how to do it, but if we keep shooting like this.....we have no chance what so ever.

i like the fact that kobe is tweeting the truth....they need to keep going down low to pau or dwight, but i'm not seeing that all that often.

ahhhh this is such a frustrating year!!!!!!!

edit: and.........they lost

You're much braver than I am. I opted NOT to watch. Well, after the Lakers were down by 10...at 22 to 12...I just couldn't stomach it. So I checked in every once in a while, and kept updated via the LA Times.

Just remember, there is no "D" in Antoni.

well i think our "d " was actually not that bad. we held them to 37% shooting.

we were just sloppy(18 turnovers!!!) and out 3 pt shot(3-15) was horrendous!!!!!!

well at least we have a few days before we play again:eek:

Like I said, I didn't actually watch the game. Judging from Rob Fukuzaki's comment to Michael "Coooooooooooop!" Cooper that the Lakers could've used some of his defense today, I thought our D must have been awful.

EIGHTEEN?! Do you happen to know how many of those turnovers were converted to points by the Spurs?

well at least we have a few days before we play again:eek:
Honey, I don't think it's going to matter... *sigh*

you are probably right, but i'm a Laker apologist:eek: so i will always root for them. i think it is not our year. hopefully by next season, antoni can find his "D" and become D-anotoni.
