I can't believe that they are holding us up like this. We really need info........ release date and price is all. Is that to much to ask for?!!?!?!?

Agreed:mad:

We want release date, we want the price [chanting and and waving signs and fists in the air]... :p

But seriously, I have a bad feeling we are going to see a whole lot of nothing today :(

ill cheer everybody up with some quotes lol.

"I do know the exact release date though, June 13th, and in some cases June 6th. This is a fact."
"I was talking to Dan today and he said while the media blitz may not actually begin tomorrow, and this is due to Sprint editing the commercials i have been told. Weird no???

However "something" is supposed to happen"

I'd like to see them play up the evolution of the mobile phone. This thing isnt a phone. Its more like a life hub that happens to make/receive phone calls.

...or maybe they can play on it replacing half the devices in your life!

-----
More powerful than your wimpy mp3 player.
Faster than your DSL line
More connected than your netbook
Is it a superphone? Can we still call it a phone?
------

or

I'd really like to see them mock the apple vs PC commercials...

-----------------------
PSP/DS person: I can game online and compete against other people when there is an interent connection available.
Evo: So can I. But I AM the internet connection. So I can also help you with my mobile hotspot
Droid Person <squinting while watching a low quality video on you tube>: I can stream videos on the interwebs!
Evo: It is a nice feature. I can do the same. In HD.
Netbook Guy: I have a 10" screen so everyone can view movies with me!
Evo: Sure - I can hook up this HDMI cable to this 70" TV so we can all enjoy the video. As a matter of fact, you can connect to my mobile hotspot too; you seem to have a lot of pauses due to buffering...
iDevice person: I wear black turtle necks and sue people
Evo: Sounds like a personal problem. Maybe I can check webMD for a cure?

<both devices load a webpage over their respective mobile connections to show speed difference>

Evo: You know - your iDevice is taking a long time to load. Maybe you should connect to my mobile hotspot too

<Netbook and PSP guy mutter about how great the hotspot is>

<site happens to use flash - iDevice gets message stating browser is not supported>

Evo: Looks like there is no hope for you. Goodbye old friend.
iDevice Guy: Noooooooooooooooooooo. Curse you modern interwebs!!!

<pan out to see the tombstone of iDevice.>
Born: whatever day apple released the original
Death: EVO release day.

:DLOL ROFL LMBO thank u. I needed a really good laugh today.

lets give them till 4:05 pacific before we start burning cars.

true but the event is for 2pm pacific, which is 4pm central and 5pm eastern

I agree, however based on your comment (quoted above) to start burning cars at 4:05 pacific (which I thought was funny btw) it means to give them until 7:05 Eastern time, which I have no doubt that you know. I was only clarifying because there seemed to be some confusion in responses to that comment by you.
Cabbie, that's almost 4 hours away! AAARRRGGGHHH! :p

This reminds me of the Incredible forum during CTIA. After each day passed during the convention, they got grumpier and grumpier. After the convention was over, they started fighting and bickering a lot, all because their phone didn't get mentioned.

All I'm saying is, let's not let the Incredible type fighting exist here. We're better than that!

No...we're really not. If we were - we wouldn't all be sitting refreshing 20 different tabs looking for a hint from sprint. We're all just as impatient as any other group of people waiting for their X.

Sprint has cost several businesses several thousands of $ in lost productivity all because they won't come out and say, "Hi. Nothing happens today - stop reading into stuff. kthxbye." Even a little something on twitter would be nice.

Maybe this is supposed to be the big announcement... Not from sprint though...

"Fitch Rates Sprint Nextel Credit Facility 'BB'; Outlook Negative "

Fitch Rates Sprint Nextel Credit Facility 'BB'; Outlook Negative | Business Wire

What do you think.?

Seriously though... If you look at the FB site the event started in march around the time of the CTIA event. I think people are reading too much into today's "ending" date. Oh well... Looking forward to getting this phone when it comes out..

Just in case that is referring to me, I want to clarify that I did not and do not intend to be rude or start any sort of fight. My comments were to clarify something that was previously stated, and that is all. It was my attempt at being helpful.

On a side note, you have done a phenomenal job in the forum Bill, keeping it clean, and TS has done great as well so thanks guys. Also thanks to Jackson and everyone else for giving solid info. This is starting to sound like an award acceptance speech so I'll shut up now...

I can't find my previous post about this so I'll just ask again, why would sprint start a media blitz 2 months before a product was going to be released? they have been running ads on websites since the day the phone was announced but why would they start paying for television time for a product that is at least 2 months away if not more?

I know we all want it to be late may/early june for the release but now we keep hearing the date creeping back slowly to mid june. The announced time frame is summer which doesn't start until the end of june anyway, not saying it won't come out before that but how often does sprint put things out early? It never made any sense for sprint to start a huge media blitz for a product 2 months or more away from coming out, it costs a lot of money to do that and it would cost to much to sustain a 2 month ad campaign before a product then have to keep it up after it came out as well.

I think sprint needs to focus on getting more phones out than just the freaking Evo! it's been 6 months since the last phone that was worth even taking a 2nd look at came out on their network and it sounds like it'll be at least 2 more months before anything else worth having comes out. Sprint really needs to get on the ball, I know they are trying to switch things up to 4G but they can't hold their whole line up back for that, too many people will not have access to 4G for a long time still so they shouldn't have to wait for the few that do. I know some people will get upset at me saying that but it's true, what other network waits 8 months or more between decent releases? hell Tmobile is in 4th place and still has a better phone selection than sprint.

This isn't anything negative towards the Evo or any other person who posts here but logically why would sprint have started a media blitz this far away from launch? does it really make sense to think that way? maybe people put something into that april 16 date on that website and decided to take a wild guess? I don't know but it just seems odd to expect a ton of details months away from the actual launch of the product, usually you don't start seeing too much of that until about 4 weeks or less from launch.
