Root [ROM] Angry Bean / CM 10.1 [build 08.08.13]

Ok, so tried this. Cleared cache and devl or whatever its called. Then cleared all partitions except SD Card. Then noticed the first thread was updated earlier today. So followed that, did the ROM first, then VM, then GAPPS, rebooted and now its working like a champ.

Thanks for the assistance.
Sure thing. Could you clarify, in case anyone else runs into this: did you in re-install joe_bloe hacks or remanifest's "fix everything" zip, or did you just do a more thorough wipe?

I really enjoy the rom, you did a fantastic job with it and it has brought new life to my phone. I have one thing that is bugging me though, on the lock screen, is there any way to remove the two lines that appear on the left and right side when pressing the power button to bring up the lock screen? It just really looks out of place.
That's a feature, showing that there are other available lockscreen "panes." Hold your finger on the extreme left edge of the lockscreen, then swipe right... you'll see a plus in the center of the screen. That's where you can add a lock screen widget, say a list of your appointments for the day or a Beautiful Widgets weather screen... in my case I use SeriesGuide to display which of my favorite TV shows are coming up.

Swiping the righthand line to the left brings up the camera without requiring you to find it in the launcher.

Not sure if anyone else has had this issue after Installing this ROM, but now my phone does an endless loop. I starts up and shows white screen with HTC logo, then goes to CyanogenMod circling blue logo and then reboots back to HTC logo and then over and over

I tried wiping all and install ROM again, but no dice

Last time I got that issue I resolved it by just wiping dalvik+cache. No reflash.

I have an issue that when i use google voice search when my headphones are in and music is playing, it will make the music play out of the speaker even tho headphones are plugged in Also the CPU settings i set to save batterylife will randomly revert to default. The biggest issue for me is video playback. The videos are very pixelated when just normally playing, YouTube or mx player. I have set to force GPU and no luck. Here is a link showing what I mean

EDIT: the one time i tried recording it, it doesn't happen D: ill see if i can get a video

Maybe a stupid question or already answered. For whatever reason, my lock screen weather widget is showing in Celsius. Once I unlock the phone, the other weather app shows in Fahrenheit. How can I change this so the lock screen shows Fahrenheit as well?

That is a bit weird if the same widget is showing properly on the home screen so I would delete the lock screen page widget on the lock screen anyway. When on the lock screen, swipe down to be able to edit the screen and you can now simply remove it altogether by creating another page (swiping left to right) or Trying adding the widget again to the blank lockscreen by holding down on it.

neither work, they dont boot.

I don't know about Anthrax because I, like many, have been locked out of dev threads. My understanding was that his most recent build had 4.2 support.

But ButteredToast... there's a test build on something like page 15 of the thread for 4.2. The main builds (like 17.3) don't boot on 4.2. I imagine his next update will add full support for 4.2 in main builds.

I'm on a quest to wring more battery life out of my phone... at the moment I'm swapping my battery out twice a day if I'm not actively charging.

I'd love to hear suggestions from my fellow Angry Bean users. If you've been able to substantially improve your battery life can you please share what you did... kernel switch, governor or cpu min/max adjustment, 3rd party app, etc? There seem to be wildly different opinions out there (underclock! overclock!), so I'm sure we'd all love to hear actual results from others on our device/ROM.

FWIW, I noticed yesterday while at home that my #1 battery hog was WiMax settings... as I've mentioned before, when I'm on WiFi my phone endlessly cycles WiMax on and off. The WiMax log fix has at least kept that process from eating up my available memory, but it would seem I'm still paying a price for that constant cycling. I'm going to have to be more proactive about disabling WiMax when I'm home... actually not very easy to do, as there's only one brief moment in each on/off cycle when the main WiMax checkbox can actually be unchecked.

Try this Anker battery from Amazon. It was highly recommended by xthedakmanx, the author of Midnight Rom and it works great!

Edit: It doubled and maybe tripled my battery life from stock! But this Angry Rom has been beating up my battery life. I noticed that apps don't kill themselves automatically, so maybe this is something I need to tweak?

What advantages do I gain by flashing this kernel? Just curious...
I only just installed it... I've read reports of increased responsiveness, and better battery life. It also enables you (with help from this app and this app) to enable "fast charge" (removes forced trickle charging when not on a standard charger) and "sweep2wake," which lets you wake or sleep the phone by sweeping across the hardware buttons.

I was also hoping to activate USB to Go functionality, but I'm not sure Angry Bean supports it, and I don't currently have a powered USB to Go cable.

I used Titanium Backup to restore my apps. For some reason they are taking forever to update, if at all, still waiting.

check your internal phone memory. odds are you restored them and they were originally on your sd card, but are restored to your phone. you can even use titanium backup to batch move them to your sd card again if this is the case. youll need to force close TB before you do so, or it will say another process is running.
