Droid Incredible looks terrible!

The back of the Droid Incredible looks terrible imo. I like how the N1 looks alot more even if it has differences in the hardware.

Thoughts? (Dont flame too bad )

I'm more of a "function over form" guy, so looks don't matter to me. With that said, I actually like it, it's something different from the plain smooth black. Just be glad it's not bright shiny orange like those old pics from so long ago.

I thought the same thing at first. But the more I looked at it the more the back grew on me. It gives it a bit of a more edgier (figuratively and litterally) look and I like how its different.

Same here .. but after consideration, this form has function too. It'll be probably a bit more comfortable to hold, and the raised back won't obstruct audio from the back speaker as the smooth back of the N1 does .

Yeah, I like the back. As for the N1, I don't like the color. My current phone is very similar and I just don't care for it. Black and red color scheme though, it's different but very good. Just be thankful the whole back isn't red.

It looks like it has an extended battery installed (which is ironic, since it actually has the smallest battery of all the snapdragon phones).

I can only imagine how fat it will look with an actual extended battery....

It's meant to look like an oil pan kind of staggered look. They did this intentionally.

I was iffy at first, but honestly who cares what the back of a phone looks like? I am looking at the front 90% and IMO the front looks pretty slick.

except the raised areas aren't solid. the inside of the back cover extends out where the raised areas are. if you sand it down, you sand a giant hole in the back of your case.

I personally think that the back looks great. I like how different it looks compared to other phones. Think of it as avant garde for cell phones... Modern, "fashion" forward, edgy, and unique. We've had so many plain backs that I was wondering when it'll change... And the change has come!

ahh yes my mistake i think it looks cool though! love the colors and as others have mentioned, it looks so much different from other, plain, phones. it definitely stands out from the crowd with a classy, sophisticated look. the matte black back and shiny black front is really well done.

OP, you're right. It looks terrible. I think the only people that think it looks good are those who are planning on getting it. The others who like it are those who are buying into the whole "industrial design" mantra and jumping on that bandwagon. But no matter how you cut it, it's terrible. Not only that, but the lens housing isn't even flush with the back, so it ends up being a nice little pivot point that never allows the phone to sit flat. Who cares if it sits flat or not you say? Well, it also exposes the lens covering to first impact, no matter what. The whole back of the phone is an exercise in design FAIL. Other than that, the nuts and guts are very impressive, but it's still second best next to the Evo4G.
