New Verizon update.

Anyone else just get a new pushed Verizon update? I accepted it but was in the middle of eating so did not pay allot of attention to what it was for. Will play with the phone shortly and see what I notice that could be different.

I just downloaded foxfi from the market for hotspot will the update make this not work anymore

I manually started the update the other day; so far so good, but my SIM errors tended to be few and far between anyway. No other appreciable chances are apparent, although I swear it takes longer to boot now, hanging on the last frame of the startup animation for longer than previous.

Ironically, right after I read this thread I picked up my phone to download the update and saw that it couldn't find my SIM card.

This problem has been getting worse and worse on my phone so I'm glad to see they finally sent out a patch.

Foxfi doesn't work on the DNA I'm afraid. Never has.

I haven't been able to get the update. When I go to check new, it searches forever and never finds anything. Not the end of the world, as I assume I'll get it eventually, and I've only gotten the SIM card error once.

Anyone else not able to get the update?

EDIT: Rebooting solved my issue.

I got the update, and still getting the Sim card error. If anything it's getting worse

I had sim card issues for 2 months, and it fixed it forever once I reseated the sim card. Just pop it out realign it put it back in and use the back of the pin to push the slot in as far as it goes. Been problem free since February(got my phone in December)

I haven't had a SIM problem since upgrading the other day, but I have lost all data connectivity once with no explanation. It wasn't the network because I was able to get data on another device. I had to completely restart the phone to fix it. Hope we haven't jumped out of the pot and into the frying pan with this update...

I had it working just fine. Uninstalled because I don't really use it.

I spoke too soon. Got a SIM error today. This update is a big fail.

Update: Another day, another SIM error. Took it in today for a SIM card swap. The person I dealt with had a DNA herself with the problem but didn't seem too concerned about it. Is it going to take a class action lawsuit to get this problem properly dealt with?

Same here although I was getting the SIM error pretty sporadically so I may not be the best test. My phone did drop the data connection for no reason at least once as well.

I charge at work, and Friday I leave work with a fully charged phone. I used to be able to go until Sunday late morning without charging. Last weekend, the phone died in the middle of the night (late Friday/early Saturday morning).

Yesterday, I again left work with a fully charged phone, and by this morning the battery was down to 22%.

My battery life is much worse.

I'm hoping that Saturday's battery death was a fluke. I'd had the update for awhile with no issues, and when I looked at the battery monitor, it looked like the phone was searching for a signal for quite awhile in the night.

I'll check it again tonight/tomorrow morning and see what's up.

(knock on wood) I've not had the sim card issue others have had (now I've jinxed myself!) and have been really happy with this phone.

Battery is about the same as before - I'm usually getting about six hours per charge. But this is with heavy GPS / nav use on Waze and tons of multitasking so I expect it to be sub par.

So Verizon is pushing the Android update for the Note 2. It came out around the same time. I wonder if it will be much longer until we see the update for the DNA.

Hopefully, but I wouldn't hold my breath. The problem with these carrier exclusives is that HTC probably won't be in much of a hurry to update a phone that was launched on a single carrier (especially if it didn't sell well.) The note 2 sold millions over many carriers so you knew it was only a matter of time for that phone. Basically, just don't get your hopes up!
