Help NFC: This Tag Is Not Supported

Ok I did some quick reading, and apparently it MAY be possible to use those tags if you use NFC Task Launcher or NFC retag. The Nexus 4 can still read the UID of the 1K tags but can't read/write data on the tag, and those two apps read the UID then activate tasks contained within the app. Maybe try one of those two apps to see if you can salvage the tags?

Those 2 were the 2 of the apps I tried! Along with AnyTag! Oh well, guess I'll need new tags! Thanks anyways though!

Yeah, I have a bunch of NFC tags around my house that I used often with my Nexus 4 that are no longer of any use now with my GS4.

That's interesting because the Nexus 4 and GS4 are supposed to have very similar Broadcom NFC controllers BCM20793 vs BCM20794 source: NFC Compatibility Chart | Shop4NFC.

I would've assumed that if the Nexus 4 was still able to use MIFARE Classic 1K tags by scanning the UID, the GS4 would be able to as well. I guess this would be one of the major differences between the 20793 vs 20794 chip.
