Hello this is the best forum I can find for the Lg Lucid and Ive ran into some trouble and hoping someone here might be able to help. The mother board in my Lg Lucid went bad for reasons unknown so I bought a phone with a damaged lcd and digitizer off of ebay to replace it.The replacement went well and the phone boots and the screen works only problem is the motherboard I bought had a pin lock on it . I attempted just to factory reset the device and when i tried to boot to recovery the phone flashes a blue screen and then reboots normally. Ive tried to get to download mode just to restore the phone from a .cab file and the phone does the same thing. Adb doesn't recognize the device because im assuming debugging is not enabled. The person on ebay is dodging any messages so there's no help there. There is no password recovery option with gmail availible. I have activated my device and can receive calls on the phone but that's all. If anyone has any ideas im open to trying. Thanks for taking the time to read this and thanks to anyone that tries to assist. If this is posted in the wrong section I apologize in advance.Thank You

Well first off, if the motherboard went out LG should replace the phone if it's under the year manufactorer warranty, but anyways, I'm guessing the Lucid is running 4.0.4 [ICS]. It won't go into download mode or recovery. Have you tried a hard factory reset? (Boot the Lucid holding volume down). Are you trying to go into download mode correctly by turning the phone off, connecting to the PC and booting it while holding volume up + down?

Thank you for the reply. Yes I believe its running ics .I thought that holding volume down while booting was for recovery so doing that gives me the blue screen flicker and a reboot. Does any program have to be running on the laptop for download mode to trigger otherwise I believe I'm doing that correctly? .How do you properly boot to recovery since the volume down is for the factory reset? Also when the phone is powering on windows recognizes the device for approximately 15 secs while the boot logo is on and then when it gets to the lock screen it stops. Thanks again for the reply

ICS recovery mode doesn't work properly even if you have installed CWM. If you haven't booting the Lucid while volume down will make it go into hard factory reset mode. For download mode turn off the phone. Connect it to PC. Hold Power + Volume up and down all at the same time. Once in recovery mode download the LG Support Tool. Once in the tool click "Customer Support" and then "Recovery Phone". It should detect your device, if it doesn't disconnect the Lucid, pull the battery. Then install drivers for the Lucid found here: LG VS840 Support: Find Manuals & Warranty Info | LG USA .
Once that's done go back into download mode and continue where you left off.

Man, sorry I don't think there is a way to fix this as far as I know. Without download mode, really can't think of anything to be done with this type of issue, I'm sorry.
