Question about pre-order shipping

For those of you who have pre-ordered or purchased phones from verizon before... Do you know if you have to sign for the package when it arrives? I'm worried that it'll come while I'm at school and no one may be here to pick it up! Is there an option where I can have it delivered without signature? Thanks.

You're going to need a signature when the package arrives. I will be at work and will not be able to sign either. My plan is to call Fedex on the 25th and tell them to hold the package at a Fedex Kinkos down the street from me. Most places are open until 9:00pm weekdays. This way you don't have to play tag with the Fedex driver!

I may buy through Best Buy and use their pre-order so I can just go and pick it up.

just wanted to bump this thread my question about pre ordering is if we pre order will we get out phones ON the 29th or will they ship the 29th? cuz if thats the case i might pick one up from the store

Pre-orders placed online before 4pm local time on 4/28 will be delivered 4/29

I have a similar question. I'm at college and all of our mail goes to a central location on campus, and then I'll receive an e-mail saying that I've gotten a package and to pick it up at the mailroom. Will that be okay since the actual recipient of the package won't be there to sign?

I've had other phones sent to my workplace and the person who checks in UPS, FedEX, etc. signed for it with no problem. And thats the same thing i'm doing in this situation so i don't have to play cat and mouse with the drivers since they always deliver when the "normal" person who works isn't home.

Thats fine.
when you go to the mailroom at your school, you will have to sign another slip so they can release the package to you.
You have a peace of mind.

Either way you will have the phone available to you on the 29th.

Your best bet is to pick up the phone at the local VZW store.
Why ?
Your information will be transfered from the old phone.
You will be able to pick and choose what accessories you need and what they look like on your phone. *if you buy 3 items you get 25% off*.
Your e-mail will be configured such as personal or work if necessary by on site tech.
Your questions will be answered by someone who's knowledgeable so that you don't have to seek for answers.
You will have the opportunity to get a one on one session to learn how to use your new Droid Incredible.

Verizon Wireless ships Indirect Signature Required. This means you don't have to be there to answer the door but the FedEx driver does have to be able to walk away from the delivery point with a signed document in hand that authorizes them to leave the package at the door.

In other words, if you're not gonna be home and you want to have them drop the package (at your risk!) you can leave a signed note taped to the outside of the door that says "FedEx: Please leave my package from Verizon Wireless at the door, I can't live without it! -- Yours truly, desperate for new phone"
