Help No Gmail notifications?

There is indeed, except when you input all the information on that screen and press next, it says 'Checking incoming server settings', and then gives the error 'Unable to connect to server'

:(

I didn't get my gmail to trigger notifications either, even after setting the gmail app (not the stock email app) to send notifications. I solved the problem by forwarding my gmail to my exchange server ;)

I have mine setup to get them with the gmail app, but having two different apps to look at my emails seems stupid when my s2 used to do it absolutely fine!

I've tried k9 and aqua mail, and probably a few others that I can't remember off the top of my head, and I don't like how they feel at all. The stock email app works a treat, such a shame that gmail (from what I've read) has discouraged the use of push notifications on anything but the gmail app :/

Google stopped offering Exchange unless you pay. If you already had it on a device it will still work but you can not set it up on any new devices even using the same account info.

If you want push email, the Gmail app works. I forward my non Gmail accounts to my Gmail accounts so I get push for all my emails. I can't reply that way and have to go to the other mail app to reply but atleast the emails come quicker.

When you set it up as an Exchange account, what did you put in for the server?

Were you asking me? I wasn't clear on that. What I did was just go into gmail (on the web) and forward my gmail to my exchange account address. Then when I entered in the email (the exchange email) and the password the phone's mail app just configured it properly. It works for me, but that's not a solution that would appeal to everyone.
