Activation question!

If I were to buy the Incredible online from Verizon, do I still have to pay $35 to activate my phone? (I'm going to upgrade from my dumbphone, it's not NE2 though.)

If I preorder it through Best Buy in store, do I have to let them activate it for $35 or can I take it home and do it myself?

Sorry if this has been posted, looked around and couldn't find exact answer.

i just asked this same question in main thread. someone told me you can activate it at home, should come with instructions and only takes a minute or two. as long as you have an account already with vz no need for an activation charge, only for new accounts.

just found out you can do this on the vz wireless page as well if you sign in to your account under phone devices. just enter the new esn number and should be good to go. makes me feel a bit easier now that its so simple.

Option 3 is gone in most markets, it's been folded into Option 1.
