Any VZW sliders in 2Q10?

I almost got the Droid when it came out, but balked at the too-cramped keyboard. Glad I did, other reviewers and users noted this, too.

Still, I want a slider so I have a physical qwerty keyboard plus big screen. I was hoping for one with GSM, but have decided I am only in Europe 10-15 days a year so its not that big of a deal to me.

So any sliders coming out in the next few months? Might Moto update its droid (not sure how easy it would be to fix a cramped keyboard without a basically new model)...

I did not see it when I posted, but did shortly afterwards elsewhere.

I did check it out in a VZW store, and have read a few reviews. There seems to be wasted space that could be extra screen, but I could possibly live with that (and pass it on to a kid when a better one was out). However, the killer for me is the Devour only has Android 1.6, which is (from what I read) limited to a single gmail account for email, calendars, etc. For me, that is a deal-breaker. So I'm hanging on for a few more months or whatever.

Thanks for the reply!

I'd returned my Eris because was within the 30 day policy & figure something cooler & faster (Incredible, etc) will come out soon. Considered the Devour but after reading review after review describing how the pull-out keyboard felt flimsy, that the 2 megapixel camera without any autofocus is so lame that you can't use Droid apps like ShopSavvy (apps that allow you to scan barcodes), even shorter battery life than the Eris, etc - I decided against the Devour.

Am in Droid Hovering Mode (DHM)!

Maybe you're a Kin1/Kin2 kinda person.

Yeah I know what you mean... if the Shadow/Mirage/MotoNexusDroid2 has a GOOD keyboard, which is quite possible given the rumored 4.3 inch size, then... well it will be the best freakin' phone ever. Good thing I have several upgrade-eligible lines... :D

Shadow != Droid2

Two very different phones.

Shadow = 4.3" slate (no keyboard), 700ish MHz Qualcomm, 8 MP cam, possible MotoBlur2.1, June-ish release.

Droid2 = Refreshed Droid mostly, focus on improved keyboard, new 1 GHz processor (possible NVIDIA/tegra?), 5 MP cam, hopeful July-ish release

HTC really just needs to slap the QWERTY from the Touch Pro2 on the Incredible, and I'd be all set. Not up for NE2 until May 2011, but I'm ready to switch to Android now, so I'd pay full retail.

You wouldn't think it'd be that hard for HTC to do. In fact, I'm surprised it didn't come out along with the Incredible. Droid Incredible and Droid Incredibler...done.

Unlike some though, I am really a fan of the HTC Sense UI, and HTC's hardware in general.

I know they're going to bring a snapdragon/qwerty/android device to the table, it's just a matter of when. I would definitely guess sometime within the next 12 months or so, but we obviously won't see the leaked 2011 roadmap for another few months. Honestly, the longer they wait, they better the chances that it will be LTE capable.

I have been a big fan of LG feature phones and have had several in the past few years, Dare, Env2, Env3, Chocolate 3, Chocoloate touch, Env Touch and have always had good success with all of them. I am looking forward to seeing how LG does with Android and the Ally. It won't replace my Incredible but maybe a good replacement for my wife's Eris.
