Root [Verizon] Any SG4 owners that had the muting issue on GNex?

I formerly had the Galaxy Nexus on Verizon and loved it except for the unexplained, recurring problem of call muting where I could hear the caller but they could not hear me. After several resets and replacement phones, I finally threw in the towel and swapped for a Rezound. It wasn't what I wanted, but it did work.

With all the hub-bub around the new SG4, I'm thinking of upgrading, but the call issues on the GNex have left a bad taste in my mouth regarding Samsung hardware. I'm curious to know if anyone who had the same problem with the GNex now have the SG4 and whether this is an issue I should still hold against Samsung.

As I recall, the Nexus issue seemed to be tied to users rather than hardware (multiple handsets had the problem for me while other owners claimed they never experienced the issue at all). As a result, I remain skeptical without hearing from someone who had the same problem rather than the devout Samsung fans. ;)

i came from the galaxy nexus to the s4. while i can't confirm i had the muting issue, no one ever mentioned it to me, i can say the radios used in the s4 are leaps and bounds better than the galaxy nexus. much better reception and consistent 4g connection, even where my nexus would drop signals.

you also might get more feedback on this in the general forum than in the root forum.

I agree. The SG4 is the phone that all of us who waited FOREVER for the Gnex WANTED it to be.

LOVE it!

I had the Nexus...never had a call issue, was perfect for phone calls...

The s4 does have superior signal strength and super fast switching of signals..its a nice change from the nexus. The s4 is super stable, super duper fast...

Aside from the awesome samsung camera app, I wish them (samsung) had left the operating system alone.

and coming from the nexus youll accidentally turn your phone down a million times on accident because of the placement of the volume buttons on where they were on the nexus ;-)
