Every time I'm tempted away from Siyah... I find myself drawn back again.
I had a brief foray with Dorimanx 8.11.1, 8.12 and 8.13 but at the end of the day... Siyah wins for me.
Yes, I know it is only a beta that lacks all the bells and whistles that Dorimanx has thrown at his Siyah based kernel... but it does the business!
Up until now I have been using Siyah 6.0beta4 in conjunction with the Jelly Bean LSJ release. I was on that for 3 months and I still maintain that if you are on the LSJ firmware, then you cannot beat Siyah 6.0beta4.
Having moved on to the latest XWLSN, JB, firmware, I decided to give Siyah 6.0beta5 a run for its money... and I am not disappointed!
Using the following configuration in STweaks...
CPU
SCHED_MC = 2
CPU UNDERVOLTING = None
DEFAULT CPU GOVERNOR = ondemand
CPU MAX FREQUENCY = 800MHz for battery saving or 1200 for default and 1300 for Performance
CPU MIN FREQUENCY = 200MHz
BLN = enabled/30 mins/Steady/1 sec/BLNWW/led-fadeeout/led-on-touch/Auto Led Voltage
MISC
DEFAULT I/O SCHEDULER = row
(Do enable JB Power Saving in JB Settings to save more juice if you want)
DO NOT, in CPU_UV check, "Set on boot", until you are confident with your settings.
I've been using beta 4 with LSN, not been getting the same amount of juice I was getting with it and LSD. I'll try beta 5 along with your suggested settings!
I found a similar app on the play store called 'NoLed' which is worth a try.

Something that has suddenly appeared out of nowhere today......my phone has started talking to me! Whenever I slide a page across in the app drawer, or the home screen, it tells me what page it is and I don't like it ,but am at a loss as to how to turn it off! I know voice talk tells you who is calling you or who is texting you, but these areas are unaffected. It's really annoying. Does anyone know how I can turn it off please?

As I mentioned, it lacks all the bells and whistles of the latest Dorimanx releases but with a couple of app's such as AdAway, sadly, no longer available from the Play Store as most, if not all, ad blocking app's have been removed by Google, (so make sure you keep a copy of the .apk), which I use to block the ad's on app's that do not have a paid for, ad free, version such as Android System Info. The other app from the Play Store that I use in conjunction with Siyah and BLN is, Missed Call Reminder, just for the call feature that Siyah does not cover.
Unlike Dorimanx, Siyah 6.0beta5 does not have a Backup/Restore feature but does remember the settings between boots. Besides, unlike Dorimanx's multitude of settings, Siyah's are minimal but effective. Very good on both battery and performance. A case, IMHO, of, "less is more!"
It would seem that the developer of Siyah, gokhanmoral, is now back in the kernel developing saddle after the birth of his son and I can only but hope that he sheds at least one more release our way.
there are lots of other settings shown in STweaks. just the ones posted by you, needs to be changed?
Welcome to the forum Rarohan.
Can I just confirm you have the gs3. If you do the problem is an incompatible kernel. If you can get into download mode (volume down, power and menu) flashing the s3 version of siyah should fix it.
I have a similar problem except my phone wont turn on at all ever since i tried do install the siyah kernal: Dev-Host - Siyah-s2-v6.0b5.tar - The Ultimate Free File Hosting / File Sharing Service all it does is start turning on and then freeze on the siyah kernal animation. its a Samsung galaxy s2 with ice 4.0.3 installed. is there any way of fixing it?
thanks in advance.
