Hello all I have successfully downgraded my LG Venice from LG730ZV6 to LG730ZV5 to gain root access again by using Bin4ry's exploit. This tutorial will also unbrick a soft bricked phone. WARNING: If you do something wrong, you can hard brick your phone. I take no responsibility if your mess up your phone in the process. Special thanks to androidlover @ rootzwiki i used his tutorial and edited it to work with the venice.

Tools & files you will need:
1.KP500 tool
2.LG730ZV5.CAB file or LG730ZV8.CAB file
3.LG Mobile Support Tool (internet connection needed for tool to work) & LG drivers

Instructions:
1.Install LG Mobile Support Tool & drivers
2.Extract the KP500 tool into a directory (i.e. C:\LG_Tools)
3.Move the .cab file into the same directory
4.Power off your device
5.With your device off hold down the vol up + vol down
6.Plug in the usb cable while holding both buttons your device should now be in download mode.
7.Run KP500-Utils-EN.exe as administrator
8.You will get a list of options choose I "Flash with assistance (file .cab) enter the letter I
9.Enter the Phone Model = LG730
10.Input the full path to your cab file including .CAB at the end (i.e. C:\LG_Tools\LG730ZV5_01.S5_00.P61009.CAB)
11.Input the full file name of your cab without the .CAB at the end (i.e. LG730ZV5_01.S5_00.P61009)
12.Watch as the LG update tool pops up. It will most likely tell you that your phone is disconnected. This is normal and to be expected just click restart. It will find your phone and go thru extracting the cab file and then extracting a .bin file.At this point if you did something wrong with driver setup you will get a page error. If you did it right, you will get a percentage indicator that goes past 15%. Every so often a message will go by about "model dll message not found". This is normal.
13.Wait for your phone to finish flashing and let it reboot on its own. if stuck on a boot loop do a factory restore after flashing. Enjoy the fact that you can now recover your phone if you do something wrong (in most cases)

it turns on but only to the lg logo then resets and starts over,i'm assuming thats soft bricked. It started doing it when i tried to put it into download mode without it being plugged in and yes it attempted to reset but only to the lg logo loop again.

when you press and hold the up & down vol. buttons your phone needs to be off .while holding both those buttons your phone should not turn on until you have connected the usb cable from your phone to your computer once you have done that a download screen with a refresh icon will appear on the display of your phone. did you ever get that display?

yes i got that screen and the program ran succesfully. I only tried this method after being caught in boot loop by pressing the power button with the volume keys depressed.

if you did successfully flashed the firmware this should have recovered your phone if it was softbricked. try to do a factory restore by turning off your phone and than hold the home button, down vol. button and power button all at the same time until you get to the restore screen. once on that screen just press the power button to confirm the restore.

Im confussed about steps 10 and 11 could you make a video please

10.Input the full path to your cab file including .CAB at the end (i.e. C:\LG_Tools\LG730ZV5_01.S5_00.P61009.CAB)

After you type LG730 and hit enter all you have to do is type C:\LG_Tools\LG730ZV5_01.S5_00.P61009.CAB hit enter.
if you followed step 3 then it should be fine.

11.Input the full file name of your cab without the .CAB at the end (i.e. LG730ZV5_01.S5_00.P61009)

Again just type LG730ZV5_01.S5_00.P61009 and hit enter.
and continue with steps 12 & 13.

So no matter what method I use to try and downgrade to V5, I get stuck in a boot loop. I can't do a factory reset or anything. The only thing I can do is go back to V8. So I'm stuck without root. Any ideas? I've used this method and the other method making a .kdz. Both methods stick me with a boot loop at the LG Logo.
