T-Mobile Hero/G2 Touch update imminent

T-Mobile said:
Hi everyone,

in learning the lessons from the last few days I have an update which whilst difficult to give will keep you in the picture.

T-Mobile has tested and approved the software from a network perspective and as the software is Android based it has to go through an approval process by google. We approved the software with HTC and it is now with google awaiting authorisation. Once HTC have received this, they will convert the firmware to a production file and send it accross to T-Mobile so that we can distribute it. HTC are not expecting sign-off in time for it to be released today.

We have raised this with our international team who manage the relationships with HTC and Google and they are doing all that they can to try and expedite the process.

We have only just received this information and I am sharing with you as a priority based on the poor communication previously. I will also be chasing for an update mid-afternoon (3pm ish) to see if the situation has changed and I will update again later.

In relation to the CS statement about 4pm, this unfortunately isn't the case as I have mentioned above and have informed the CS comms team to ensure that all agents are given the latest picture.

Once again sorry for the news, and I will report back again mid afternoon.

Bless 'em.

Hi everyone,

sorry for the lateness, I've been on the phone with the handset team for the last 20 mins. The update will not be available today.

Our international team will be working to ensure that everything is in place to have this ready for Monday.

I would like to give you hope that this can come sooner, but don't want to mis-manage your expectations.

I will be keeping in touch with progress over the weekend and if there are any further updates I will post them as soon as I have the information.

Thanks again for the feedback and your patience.

Well I am sure by now most are reading the T-mobile forum pages by now.

T-mobile have sadly fobbed us off and then admited opps we fell behind. Trying to blame Google and HTC in the process. Even HTC seem to have posted on the foums saying they are waiting for t-mobile to pass the rom back to post via the HTC site dispite many posts saying that HTC will not have anything to do with it.

Well you would be able to read the T-mobile forum if it was working. Seems to have crashed or it been taken offline.
