I've read a bunch of reports of the sd cards failing on the S3 and every one that I read they were using SanDisk. There could have been failures with other brands of cards and I just never read those? A friend of mine just had his S3 card fail the other day. If I get the S4 I'll get a Samsung card.
Tbere was a batch of duff SanDisk 64GB cards that they have owned up to. A lot of people had similar problems.
I shall be buying a new one shortly and I am takingno chances and I shall be buying a Samsung card. After all, Samsung makes a large proportion of the chips in these cards anyway.

I had one of the bad SanDisk cards. Constant unmounting and major headaches. I sent it back in exchange for a Samsung and am going on two weeks with absolutely no problems. Long story short: you get what you pay for, and I will never be a cheapskate and buy a SanDisk card again.
I agree, class 10 is the way to go since they don't cost much more money than slower classes. My wife and I both have 32GB versions of that class 10 card and couldn't be happier.
I know some of you either experienced issues or know someone that had issues with a SanDisk card. Could happen to any brand. I have two cards that from other companies that crapped out me too but the SanDisk cards have been nothing but reliable. Also, take note of the 4600+ reviews at Amazon with a 4.5 start rating.
Even though I knew about the duff batches of cards,I still took a gamble and purchased the 64gb class 10 SanDisk, it has been absolutely fine(touches wood) so far(3 weeks or so) only thing I have issue with is viewing pictures in the stock gallery app can take a while to load from the card compared to internal memory!
I did the same thing but, unlike you, ended up with a bad card. Took it back to the store and bought a 64GB Samsung card and never looked back. San Disk used to be a pretty good company but in the past 2 years their quality has gone down hill. This isn't the first "bad batch" of cards to come out of San Disk. Maybe they are just going through a rough patch.
No micro card greater than 8g has ever worked properly in either my s2 or s4 and I've tried cards from kingstan, scandisk and even Samsung, quite frankly it's absolutely shocking that Samsung can't manufacture a phone to handle more than 8g. Happy to be proved wrong but I have found no info online to solve this problem.

I have 2 x 8g, 1x 16g and 2 x 32g and only one 8g works in either phone, the same 8g. All others have worked in other phones and devices. So the suggestion is it could be my phone? I will contact Samsung. I'd really love to have more storage as I really like the galaxy range. Good to hear the good news stories it gives hope
Suppose I should clarify that all have been formatted to fat 32 in a pc and the phone, particularly just before data transfer, they are class 10. The 32g Samsung isn't even recognised in the s4 which I've had only 5 days! It just reads the card blank gives an exclamation mark and won't mount the card. It was at least recognised in the s2. I know it's best not to assume that people know something so no offence about the distinction between internal and sd. Thanks for the help.
