Root Any love for Cyanogenmod's RC2?

I love CyanogenMod. A version on it has been on all my android phones since CM7. However as you are acutely aware of the ROM scene is asleep at the wheel waiting for 4.3/5.0 currently. Which is perfect timing for them to give 10.1 RC status. AOSPA aka Panaroid Android has all the momentum again with PA 3.5 alpha and their latest gift to the community Halo. First Hybrid Engine...then PIE...now their newest baby Halo. My favorite ROM hands down.

I find it interesting that they integrated PIE into CM. Felt kinda weird seeing that, though quite a few from their community have wanted it for some time. And everyone doesn't want to have to keep LMT installed to have similar functionality. The beauty of Nexus devices is that everyone wants to make ROMs for them. Which is why so many devs use CM as the base for their ROM or port it over to their device. Looking forward to seeing what they bake into 10.2/11

Hi I use cm all the time as my fall back..I try all but come back to cm...been on my phones since rooting org droid and 2.1 eclair...all others are fun but cm always stable and dependable as a daily...not always cutting edge but simple fast and great battery..what more can u say when the ROM is better than stock for bug free and for being around the longest for non stock ROMs...others come and go but cm has and i hope its here a long time to come.

My phone has been very glitchy lately. It started about a week ago on RC2 and has continued into RC4. I think i'm just going to flash back to stock and hope the rumors of an Android 4.3 launch in June are true. This phone gets OTAs straight from Google I might as well take advantage of that atleast once ha. I'll flash a custom ROM again once they get the 4.3 code merged and stable.

Thinking about doing the same. :smokingsomb:

In case anyone is interested I did end up going back to 100% stock and just.. Wow.

I hate to say it, but the stock kernel beats Franco's kernel in terms of speed. Everything just seems instant (and I thought everything seemed instant before). Now keep in mind the difference is in milliseconds with maybe a second difference max, but it is noticeable. The speed boost comes with trade offs however, such as not being able to adjust the screen colors (I miss my deep blacks. Some blacks looks almost grey on stock) and not being able to undervolt (my phone runs noticeably hotter without the 100mV UV).

As for the stock ROM itself it is pleasantly bug free, but again I miss the customization custom ROMs offer. The persistent software buttons at the bottom drive me crazy by constantly taking up unneeded space.

I've decided to stay stock for the month and hope for the 4.3 update, but if it doesn't come I'll be diving back into the wonderful world of aftermarket software. Running stock has been a nice reminder of how most people experience this phone. It's not bad, but it's not at its full potential either.

How you went back to stock? can you provide me with the steps on how to, so i could do it.

The easiest way would be to download a toolkit and hit the flash stock + unroot button. The toolkit can be found here:

http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1766475

*PLEASE NOTE: This will wipe everything on your phone including storage so be sure to back up anything you don't want deleted before proceeding.

Ok thanks a lot, will make a backup before i run the tool kit.

*Edit: Just to be clear im not going back to stock because im having issues or problem with a custom roms, i just want to take advantage also of the OTA from google when they release a new version of JB.
