Help Incoming calls not coming through - Samsung Galaxy S Captivate

I recently just switched from a Blackberry to the Samsung Galaxy S Captivate - so far I am loving the android interface. Definitely a step-up from the dated blackberry OS.

I have looked up this issue on a number of forums, but I cannot seem to get a definite answer. Mind you, this issue does not happen all the time, but it does happen on a reoccuring basis and it just blows my mind that I can't seem to find a reliable median when it comes to service with Rogers.

When I get incoming calls, the phone doesn't ring. I will get a notification appearing on the phone indicating that I have "one missed call" but I didn't even hear the phone ring, and the phone is right in front of me! On one occasion, I had a friend call me and she said that the phone kept ringing (she was calling from the Fido 3g network), by the time I went to go grab the phone (again, it was right in front of me) , it rang for about 30 seconds and went straight to "one missed call" - Can somebody possible explain to me what's gonig on?

It is my understanding that this problem occurs because of some fault having to do with the Rogers 3G network. Unreliable network perhaps? I'm not sure, but I am starting to get annoyed that not all my calls are coming through.

If someone could please give me an answer, or even a remedy to prevent this from happening!!

p.s. this is my first post here on androidforums :)
