Root [Boost Mobile] WiFi Tether Issues w/Tablet

I have WiFi tether on my phone and can connect pretty much any device to it, except my tablet. I just picked up a Nextbook 7 and it doesn't even find it when it scans for wifi. Any help would be very appreciated! I'm not sure if it's just a setting thats off? Please help!! :( Thank you!

Are you using a rom that has wifi tether enabled?

My phone is rooted but I haven't installed a custom ROM yet. I am able to run my laptop and ipod off my phone. The tablet doesn't even see it.

I'm going to rake a leap here and guess that you are.using an app from the playstore to thether. If that's the case most app create an adhock "pass through " connection that some devices don't get along with. Infrastructure tether works 99% of the time. I know of two roms that have this feature and that is DroidSmith and WOEM
