If you search the Play Store there are a couple of free apps that use the front facing camera as a mirror.

Not an actual mirror, but there's several that simulate a mirror using the front camera.

Why not just use the camera app and set it to use the front facing camera?

Hopefully the OP has a phone with a front facing camera. Not all Android phones have them.

Does my Samsung Galaxy S3 have a backwards facing camera which I can use as a mirror to check the back of my head so I'll know whether it's haircut time?

Yes, requires front camera.

I recall a program swiss army knife that had that. Also had Magnifying glass apro that worked similar to front camera zoom but for some reason focus was a little easier to control Also had a "ruler" app..kind of handy
