I want to thank all of you! I LOVE this forum.

I moved over from XDA, because they made me feel like I was an idiot and inferior, if I did not know any previous subject matter, on the question or issue I had trouble with. Here, everyone is, nice, and willing to lend a hand. If I need help, everyone is glad to help me through it, even if I am a complete noob on the subject!

So thank you Phandroid community! For making my Android experience, a great one!

XDA isn't a terrible place. They really try to keep it as a place for developers to gather and discuss the internals of Android. It really just isn't a place to ask beginner questions.

Having said that, this place is great and there are tons of people more the willing to help out.

XDA assumes you have technical expertise and just have a minor technical question.

its like this, you start here at AndroidForums, yu learn and make mistakes and learn from those and learn technical things and then you outgrow us and move on to XDA Where the big boys are, that happened to me lol but i highly prefer AndroidForums over XDA any day!

I have total respect for what the guys at XDA get done. Stuff we get to use for free. I like the atmosphere here though. Im too scared to even post in XDA lol :beer:

Xda is for developers by developers. We're a support/community forum


Different target audiences. Different attitudes. Both are needed.

and it is you who we all should thank. every single member who participates here in AF deserves a great big thanx from me. we are a community and without you, we would not be one. we would be individuals lost on the net.

i do not really participate in XDA very much. i usually only go there for info and to learn. i rarely post there. but here, i can kick off my shoes and hang out with you guys.

Lol. They are right but im a proud nerd. Although the way my niece explains it, a "geek" is cooler than a "nerd".
In her 16yr old opinion, a geek is interested in geeky things but still has a life whereas a nerd is interested in geeky things and that IS their life so id rather consider myself a geek
