Root Question about Restore

I reinstalled BobZ CM10 last night, but before I did, I made a backup through recovery and backed up everything. Hoping someone smarter than me can explain something to me: can I restore that backup, and go back to stock firmware, or do I have to use the unbrick guide to reinstall stock firmware, and then restore the backup?

Any help is appreciated.

If you installed another rom Im pretty sure you have to download and add the recovery apk back into your system, but your backup should be under clockworkmod on your ext sd card still.

Well BobZ's CM10 already has that recovery built into it so I should be good right?

Yeah then you should be good. I haven't tried that one out, the one I tried I had to re-add it. Just make sure your backup is there before hand and it's the full backup.

Oh and if you used pgs recovery to make the back up, you HAVE to use his recovery to restore it. And vice versa

Yeah when I baked up I did it through that recovery so everything should be kosher, thank you

All went according to plan, restore was successful, back on version C, waiting for some fixes in CM10.. Would love for GPS to work because I need it, and I love everything else about that rom.. It's too bad really..

I haven't tried one with everything I like or I use works.. It would be nice to try and combine a little from each of them to have a desirable fully functioning jellybean rom...

Yeah I use public transit so I rely on my gps all day every day.. Waiting to see what the new line up will look like this month. Might move on from the motion, I really want jellybean. The motion has kinda made me fall in love with LG though to be honest...Mainly because cause I'm not a big Samsung fan and I don't like HTC's interface and ui.

Dude I love this phone, my girl paid $500 for her phone, net10 byod program, and I haven't found one thing her phone can do that this phone can not, aside from picture quality..

I too am extremely reliant on GPS, i drive a lot, and need the navigation most of the time.. Wish I didn't because I would totally use BobZ CM10 otherwise.. I love jellybean, especially Google now, which I can't get working on my motion.. It's a shame there isn't a fix for the damn GPS

Yeah this phone has amazing features. I've always said its a steal, I'd like a slightly larger screen like that of tge spirit but I'm happy just want fully functional g-now. I used to have our version completely working, but now it won't talk back after the second to last time I restocked.
