Ok well this is first time I have a GSM phone(HTC one), I came for Virgin Mobile USA(Sprint). I want to know If I can add protection to my sim card. For example phone is stolen and sim card is removed, is it possible to track the with lookout or avast with a virtual copy of the sim card. Also I got my phone unlocked(paid off) and got my voice mail switched to Google voice is there any more pros with tmobile? Other then amazing speed and coverage :D

There are numerous apps to help you handle a lost/stolen phone.
I use avg as it also provides virus protection and is free.
You cannot protect the sim card itself however if your sim is stolen simply telling t-mobile they will cancel that sim card and issue you a new one.

A thing to ponder though, If someone stole your phone and the gps tracked them to a location, What could you actually do? Call the police and be laughed at? Try to get in and get your phone and get arrested for assault and criminal trespassing?

The biggest pro to T-Mobile is their Truly Unlimited Data. They are the only cell provider with that and most ISPs set limits.

You don't need avast, you can just get android lost or where's my DROID.

You can call the police and tell them where it is and they can retrieve it for you.

I meant to type AVG or as it appears in Google Play "AntiVirus"
It has all the features of those phone finding apps + the antivirus protection that is wise to have.

I doubt it, Police do not care and would not do anything.

My sisters fund raiser money was stolen when walking back from school. Cops came in less then 3 mins for a non emergency report. Sadly if I managed to take a picture of the plates we would have won our revenge by slapping a fine in the guys face :(.

That is pretty much my point.
Unless you have concrete evidence all the police can do is take reports, which doesn't help you at all unless you have the item insured.

I actually have Kapersky on my phone.
It is a bit pricey, but it covers all of the aspects of recovery of your lost/stolen phone and the data on your phone, including the sim card. It also has remote wipe if your phone is stolen, and can be locked remotely so that no one can use the stolen phone.
I do believe there are other less expensive options in Playstore that offer similar protection, but I like Kapersky for the up to date virus protection.
