As far as the differences, I do not know as I have never run a rom lower than 3.0, sorry. You can flash either one to check it out and see what you like:)

And yes I remember you and your issue with TacoRoot :p That was one for the books eh? lol :D
And just to let you know, (you may already know this), you do not need full s-off to flash roms or kernels. S-on is sufficient for most folks. :)

But if you are like me, you want to go all the way to s-off just because you can ;)

i have been away from my evo for a couple years, and have picked it up as a media device. I always liked the sense roms, even though i would install a new launcher, because the sense roms always seemed to have more things working weather it be stereo bluetooth or 4g.
i liked mik 3.11 a lot and recently tried thoundershock 3.03 and ubersonic since i no longer have phone service with the evo. Ubersonic is definitely more streamline but i like the feel of thoundershock 3.03

I am looking for a rom that is as close to the current ICS as is possible, just so i can try it out. I understand the evo can probably not run the latest ics, it is about 3 yrs old.

yes that dose bring one up for the books

i am sure i well do the taco root again and get full s off. hopefuly with t with the replacement phone i got that i was having the signal probs that i posted in the forum that si me that i got the replacemtn phone hope that it well not have any issues with ti member i tried with my wifes phoen and we had to do a devo meth with hers cuz we also tried to have probs with her phone as well so

and that brings up a few questions i do have that are valed.

her phone rom which was the mik 3.11 it seems to be lagging latly and staling out even thow i well reboot and refreash on it do room like any other thing become unstable and you have to event re flash the rom like if i had ot reinstail for example windows to my pc.?

and my next question is if i reroot my phone my radios well stay the same is that correct ?

i have a nothe rpost out there about that question some were i just dont want ot go off tiptic

and how well i know if i get the right rom for my phone or evo 4g do the roms have limitations or basic requierments?

Flashing roms will not mess with your radios.
In that link that Ocn provided, each rom's download site will give a description of it's limitations such as FFC (front facing camera) not working, or 4G not working, or Rom "X" will not tuck you in at night, or whatever:)
They do have pretty good descriptions in the OP (original post) for the rom at the download site. :)

we have ics and we have jb roms....nothing official. but the great devs have found a way to get them on the og evo. they are not sense but aosp, which is pure android.
her phone rom which was the mik 3.11 it seems to be lagging latly and staling out even thow i well reboot and refreash on it do room like any other thing become unstable and you have to event re flash the rom like if i had ot reinstail for example windows to my pc.?
try wiping dalvik cache and cache in recovery. it usually fixes most issues. if you are on any one rom for a long time, it is good to periodically(like once a week) to wipe the caches.
and my next question is if i reroot my phone my radios well stay the same is that correct ?
correct. you have to physically flash radios or update them via a ruu to update them.

how well i know if i get the right rom for my phone or evo 4g do the roms have limitations or basic requierments?
requirements might be in the rom's op and always read before you flash anything. but to be honest for the og evo, there is not much requirements for majority of roms.....just check out the op for anything needed before flashing.

and so le tme get this stright what you all are saying is that each sens has diff things or diff ablitys the a nother senes

so senes 3.0 has more and better stuff then 2.5 or 2.0

yes basically sense 3.0 was made specifically for the evo 3d, but the devs have pulled some of the features out of it and was able to port it to our phone.

they really have not made many roms with the various versions of sense. there is sense 1.0(made for our phone), sense 2.1(only in mikg), sense 3.0(ported from evo 3d) and sense 3.5(can't remember which htc phone). the evo 4g lte has sense 4.0(i really doubt that you will see devs trying to port it, but you never know).

anyways hope that helps;)

k so is the roms have the sens backed in to them then so it realy dose not mater what rom i have flashed in to because what ever rom i have well come with it then?

do you have a link or some wre were i can read about the diff sens out there

Let's see if I can be as thorough as Ocn in my answer ;)
Sense is HTC's overlay of pure Android. Pure android would be an AOSP rom with no bloatware that HTC or Samsung or other manufactures put in and nothing themed like a manufacture would theme it, or have settings like a manufacture would have in it..
I hope I'm explaining this right....:)
A sense rom will have HTC's "look" to it.
An AOSP rom will not.

and do you guys have a live from the devs website that would link straight to there list of roms cuz i got it from on eof you guys befor but i lost that link and i went to the website and coul dnot find it ?

it is like a complete list of evr thing
This link?
http://androidforums.com/evo-4g-all-things-root/618281-list-utilities-apps-roms-kernels-og-evo.html

Or you might be looking for a website where the developer lists all his work? Such as goo.im?
That is one of many, but it's the first one that comes to mind:)

mikey is correct about sense. it is a skinned version of googles android os. each manufacturer likes to add their own skin(theme) so that you can distinguish the phone over others. so htc has sense, motorolla has motoblur, and samsung has touchwiz.

now as far as roms go with any android phone, you will find roms that have the skin of the manufacturers added(like htc's sense) or you have pure android. this is pure code from google's source code. these types of roms are called aosp.

for more info go here:http://androidforums.com/evo-4g-all-things-root/618281-list-utilities-apps-roms-kernels-og-evo.html and checkout the second post. i go into more detail about roms and kernels there.

which reminds me you say that and it says that asop take up more mem so withe my phone bing new an stock again with it i got the same mem cared i had which is a 1g well i ned to get a bigger card to use or run a aslop

You need to get a bigger card. Anything 2GB or less will not work very well. Minimum 8GB card should be used. This is for any ROM.

k well i well try to get a new card money tite

and i cant find that link to that list i had so that is a updte to that so i am at a lose now guess i could talk to thows guys maybe they now wha ti was talking about

I'm not certain which list you looking for. There have been a number of list on the previous post on this thread so it may be one if them.

You will continue to have ongoing issues though due to the size of you card that Tube mentioned. I understand the money side of things, but you will experience some issues until you can get a larger card.

again it has been a couple yrs since breaking t out the evo, it continues to amaze and thrill me how much time and effort people have taken to develop, post and even give customer support and feedback for these free (maybe minus some small donations) roms
And any issues i have had figuring it out there are always helpful people on these forums to help one through stressful times. truly amazing. I really miss that in this community with the evo

I searched through the links can anyone direct me to a known JB rom? i would love to check one out if possible
thanks again
