I went to Boston for an Independence Day long weekend. We traveled from New York. I stopped by MetroPCS to upgrade one of my phones. It's a very nice phone. Comparing it to Lg motion that I've purchased a year ago for the same $150. In fact it seems like best bang for the buck out of all Metro phones for now. LG is really raising a plank at price to quality/stuffing ratio competition.

The point of this thread is to send a message to Metro that we want that phone. Sign/post here to let Metro know that you really want to see Optimus L9 in your city.

You took it back to New York and activated the phone there would you mind giving us your experience?

Well it was amusing and painless. When I asked to take a look a the phone, girl behind the counter just flipped it out from her pocket. I asked her if she has S3 in there too by any chance and she smiled.

It was activated with in a few minutes. I asked her if It's going to work well in NYC and she told me that I need to update my roaming list when I get there. So far I'm back to NYC and I did not update anything and I have good 4g signal.

It runs JB 4.1.2 LGMS76920b

Were u able to keep your NYC phone #?

Yes I was able to keep my number. I was also pleased with MetroPCS store in Boston. They had 4-5 people serving the customers. They were very friendly and completed my order within minutes.
Few days later I also was putting my LG motion to another line and got an excellent help through online chat. I had another issues then and called 611, waiting time was minimum, agent spoke fluent english, and they were able to resolve my problem quickly. Things are really improving.

More cities are getting GSM phones, so either Metro read this thread and took actions instantly, or they have been planning it for a while. Of cause I hope it's the first one :D

I guess posting requests from other cities would not hurt.

just proves what we been saying barely any metro authroized dealer knows what they talking about lol. i remember a few dealers on howard forums trying to act like they know it all but none knew what they were talking about.
I think the time that happened the most was S3 release, oh I'm a dealer its going to be released on ***. Almost got everyday of the month back then.
