Help Super Help with microphone!!

Ok so my motion has been treating me pretty well until a couple days ago when I noticed something that changed my whole world <not really lol. but apparently anything that uses the mic (voice to text, google maps, songify) other than making a call, doesn't work! I just get this error that says audio problem. Naturally, I've tried restarting it and using a headphone mic but neither worked. Below I also have a picture of the error. (and this phone is not rooted.) I'd greatly appreciate some help.

Try removing battery for a few minutes and restart.

Turn speakerphone on and off.

On input and language settings try changing from one keyboard to another and then enable microphone

on keyboard setting .

Maybe will re enable function by turning off then back on in different menus and trying to use microphone icon at top

of page and from keyboard (enable microphone on keyboard ) to wake up the software switch.

Also try a voice recording and see if that works.

removing battery didn't work, speaker phone works, changing keyboards didn't work and niether did voice recording. I also found out that I can't record videos either.

If that's the case I would consider going to a corporate store and getting a Warranty Replacement.

You could try a factory reset but you will lose your data contacts, photos etc.

Might be a defective unit.

Have you done the software upgrade to 77010d-I am not too impressed with the upgrade but a slim chance it will wake up your microphone issue.

If that doesn't work, try factory resetting. You will lose all data after factory reset, so make sure to backup all your photos/music on your internal sd card to your computer and make a full backup with the backup app. If you have an external sd card, backup to that. If not, you will have to copy everything in the internal sd card to your computer. Factory reset wipes the internal sd card, but not the external sd card.

Edit: the metro store will only try factory resetting and if that doesn't work they'll probably replace it for $15. To save yourself aggravation, do the backing up above. If you don't know your gmail password, you're going to have lots of issues.
