With a new low cost IPhone said to be coming out.

I was wondering,
How many of you use Android for it's OS?
If you do not use it for the OS do you use it for the Price?

Android devices used to be cheaper, It seems that Apple would like to change that by making a cheaper version of it's IPhone.

Also with the HTC One we are seeing Android Devices no longer being cheap, instead they are packed to the rim with nice features.

I voted other. I use Android because of Price And Programming.
Plus the variety of phones, carriers, plans, etc.:)
I made the poll multiple choice so that people can vote for all 3 if they have many reasons they prefer android.

I know that there are many reasons to like Android, Price and Programming are just the two I figured are most likely to be reasons.

I use Android because it:

- is the best OS (fast, I can choose my home screen, I can choose to see data instead of a bunch of icons puked onto my homescreen, universal sharing, etc.)
- isn't overly restrictive
- can be individualized to suit my needs
- has a variety of capabilities within the variety of handset choices/manufacturers
- has a variety of screen sizes, camera options, etc within the handset choices
- is the largest ecosysytem
- it discloses app permissions and doesn't pretend like if an app doesn't ask for permissions it doesn't get any (i.e. apple allows all apps access to contacts whether they want access or not)
- is the second largest group of apps available to it via official app stores. Which means it has every app I will ever need (also it will be the largest by the end of this year)
- doesn't get gouged me on price
- treats me like an adult
- doesn't make decisions for me

So, yes, price is a part of it. But not because it is less expensive. Rather, because I don't want to pay too much for less.

Android and IOS, It is sorta like going back in time with a linux distro.
I hope people pick the open source competitor(android).
Then years down the road all the best Games will be exclusive to Android.

I as a gamer would like to see all the best games on a open source platform.

Im using it because Note 10.1 3G gives all i want: a pen, a tablet and a phone. No one else have this! It's handy at work and fun at home =)

Price? Well, you get latest technology for every cents you pay! It's modern and you don't need to pay extra just for name...

Other. I use Android because back in 2010, there were decent Android phones that have a physical, landscape slider keyboard. I got the HTC Desire Z at the time. If Apple came out with one that had such a keyboad, they likely would have had me as a customer.

Last year, I upgraded to an SGS3. I stayed with Android because I did really like many of the OS features, particularly widgets. I find them immensely useful. I hated the lack of a physical keyboard for months, but then I discovered SwiftKey and found it was an adequate substitute for a physical keyboard.

This poll seems to allow you to make multiple selections. You could have voted both Price and Programming instead of Other.
