Ok guys, I pulled it off! My annual upgrade wasn't supposed to be until 6/5. I emailed Verizon yesterday and I got an email that they fixed my account to get the 2-year pricing. So I logged on tonight, and sure enough I was able to preorder the Incredible at $199!

I am SUPER excited guys! I am coming from a LG enV Touch and am very happy to be jumping to a smartphone. I am on my second enV Touch and I still have bugs. The phone isn't horrible, it just has horrible battery life and tons of bugs that I couldn't stand anymore.

So if anyone else out there is a couple of months away from either their annual upgrade or NE2 upgrade, shoot Verizon an email!
 
I think he's talking about the annual upgrade you can do to get 2-yr pricing on a phone, when you currently are 1 year into your 2 year contract with your current phone.

Even if you do wait 2+ years, you don't necessarily get NE2. The two year contract on my stupid LG is up but I'm not the primary line on the family share plan (and they don't have NE2 yet).

What excuse did you use? They were suppose to fix mine but, their's no indication on my verizon.

I just flat out wrote that my enV Touch sucked in so many words and I was on the brink of just paying the early termination fee and going elsewhere if I couldn't get the Incredible at a discount.

My email was much longer than that and I didn't put a lot of threats other than that one. I just explained that I have been a customer for over 8 years on my own account and over 13 years total since I was on my mom's account before I got my own account. I also have a $100/month family plan which probably didn't hurt me.

They emailed me back and said I was clear to order the phone at the discounted rate. So I logged into my account on the website and sure enough I was eligible for an upgrade. It worked out great!

So if you got yours moved up a couple months, can I get mine moved up from july of 2011? D'OH.

This goes to show, if Verizon ever pulls one of these "we don't need good phones because we have the network" thing, don't go out and get the BB Tour because you think there's no hope in sight.

I'm jealous though, let us know what you think of it when it arrives!

Are you on a plan where you can get a 1-year (annual) upgrade? That's what I did. My NE2 isn't until July 2011 myself. But I just used my annual upgrade early and got the 2-year contract price on the phone.

The way I saw it was that I didn't want to wait and $199 is better than $529. :p

It's nice on getting your annual upgrade moved up. My upgrade date is 5/12 and Verizon will not budge on it! That's with having a Storm 1 that was swapped out a couple of times...POS....then followed up with a Tour that I have swapped out 5 times (& my current one just crapped out 2 days ago so that will be my 6th Tour!!!). I've emailed, called, and even stopped at 2 different Verizon stores and they won't move my date up. Maybe if I threaten to cancel my family acct...

Yeah, you can always threaten to cancel your account and see what happens. It's weird that they won't budge for you when they budged so easily for me.

How long have you been a Verizon customer? Do you have a high dollar plan?

I had a similar problem with my Palm Pre Plus. I went through 5 of them. You have to talk to a manager in Tech support, not internet customer service. The internet people will keep jerking you around and will do nothing for you.

Only been with Verizon since Nov 08. I've just got the $80/month family plan.


EDIT: Well I returned my Eris today(only had it a week;getting ready for Inc) and had to swap out my BB Tour for a working one. It's my 6th or 7th Tour in less than a year so I talked to a different manager and she moved my annual upgrade date back 2 weeks to Apr 29! Now I just have to wait til next week..woohoo!!
