Help with youtube app please

Before I start, I have used the search function with youtube in the box, but found nothing related to my issue. All I want to do is be able to respond to comments on youtube on my galaxy S3. I live in the UK, and when I first got this phone the YouTube app worked perfectly and I could respond to comments. I could also access youtube from the browser and still be able to reply to comments. But recently something has changed and I cannot respond to comments no matter what ive tried! I've downloaded different browsers and tried doing it from those and it still doesn't work, also tried deleting updates to apps etc relevant to the use of youtube and still nothing! If any of you can provide a working fix for this I would be very grateful indeed. I even had trouble getting the search box to stay open so I could type in it as it kept disappearing on me so I had to use the main search bar instead.

Ive always just put an "@" before the persons username to reply. Does that work?

Does it work when you're on the PC? Also, can you confirm if your gmasil account is tied to your youtube account (when you open the app, hit youtube in the top left corner, is there an account listed).

I can't remember exactly what happened, but I had an email in the last 6 months or so telling me my old YT account was being merged in to the one associated with my gmail account. Has something similar happened for you and the account you're using on your phone no longer exists?

The problem I have is not that I can't comment on YouTube videos, it's that I can't reply directly to a comment that has already been made. The reply button just is not there at all

Yes it works perfectly on the PC no problem! Im tempted to get a Windows Phone instead. I appear to have a gmail account and my own account, and when I log into the app on my S3 it gives me the option to choose either. It appears that regardless of which account I choose neither will allow me to respond to other people's comments.
As for my account no longer existing, it appears to be just fine on the PC which is why ive come here as I feel it's the phone with the issues. Ive tried all sorts of things, it's driving me crazy! I even logged into my wife's ipad and I still could not respond to comments!??????????

Ive never seen a reply button on the app tbh. I just use the @ so it gmails the reply to the person :thumbup:

When you use the @ im guessing you are typing in the regular leave a comment box? Also in response to the bit I put about the reply button, a while ago all I used to do was touch the comment I wanted to reply to and it would open a reply box beneath the comment I was replying to, but now it's just not there

Ah right. Ive never noticed that. Just tried n nothing happened should it work in the comments for any vid or only your own uploads?

Ive had it working on my own videos and im certain I have used it for other peoples aswell
