Talk from PC

Google Hangouts via Google Voice?

The demise of Google Voice has been predicted for a while now. Luckily it has not been blatantly true yet.

Seems like they are integrating the two under the Hangouts banner. I assume and hope it means that the functionality of Voice rolls into Hangouts (read: I keep my Google Voice number).

Ideally, Hangouts/Voice will allow in app voip calls, calls from the desktop client, sms and universal voicemail.

Hi Guys,

Is there any application through which, I can call from my phone and talk through my PC.

Regards

Try MyPhoneExplorer. I use it for syncing contacts and calendar between phone and PC and for sending texts from my PC (I send very few but I'd rather have a decent keyboard to type them on) and, IIRC it also allows phone calls using a mic/speakers on the PC.

I have not used this ever, but seems like what you might be asking for. Paid app in Play store. Maybe there are better or free ones.

Just tried and it works for me (I use a wifi connection). Though I don't have mic on my PC so just hung up. Open the contact details on the PC app and click the phone symbol by the number you wish to call. Worked for me just now.

Hmmm. 'IIRC' - If I Remember Correctly ..... :D

I'm not sure what the OP is asking, but if the OP just wants to use the PC as a microphone & speakers, then...

Simply connect the phone to the PC via Bluetooth. Be sure to enable the phone profile of the Bluetooth connection (not just the media playback profile). Then the PC's microphone and speakers can be used to make phone calls using the phone's connection. You can even dial from the PC.

OK. I think you're right. I'd made one assumption too many from the brief test I did, partly as I didn't think I had a mic on my PC. Turns out I do - on the webcam I never use ... doh! Anyhow, I tried and like you I initiated the call from the PC but all the ausdio came through the phone. Checked on the MPE forum and came across this thread ..... FJ Software :: Thema anzeigen - Use PC speaker and microphone for calling ? ... where FJ says:

Sorry, this is not posible since third-party apps like MyPhoneExplorer have no access to the voice stream of a call in the phone.
Though he was answering a question about about calling via USB cable but I assume wifi is the same.

Even I am not able to do with the USB cable.

There must some sort of application for that. Wish I could be a developer. I MUST HAVE MADE THIS APP FOR SURE. For the android users siting in their office's. So that they can easily can talk through their Pc WITHOUT TOUCHING THE PHONE :(
