First impressions of the Zens wireless charger for my Nex 4

I got the Zens single wireless charger for about 42 bucks delivered. Ordered on a Sunday and delivered on Wednesday form Shopandroid. Free shipping because I ordered an additional item and they give you free shipping for orders over 50 bucks. No tax and they were running a 15% off for the July 4th weekend.

I use a TPU case and placed the phone on it several times and each time it started to charge. It is not fussy at all about placement. There is a thin outline where you should place the phone. There is no light until you place the phone on it. When you put the phone on the pad the light turns red then quickly green when the phone begins to charge. When the charging is complete, the light and charger go off. The phone also wakes up and makes a jingle when it begins to charge. I charge my phone overnight. The first AM I got up, and the charger was off but the phone was only charged 96%. I put it back on the charger for about

I got the Zens wireless charging pad but it didn't work with my Diztronic case on my Nexus 4. For me the better option was the LG 300 wireless charger that does work with that case.

How long ago did you get yours? I also use the Diztronic case (Matt black TPU) and it works great. Maybe they have upgraded the charger? I also tried a mercury TPU and the bumper case that came with my phone and all three worked great.
They all charger first time, every time.

Mine was small one with charging light at right. Got about month and half ago. Glad it worked for you. Disappointment for me.

I bumped into this doing a search of wireless chargers. Jhonb if you are still around, I'm curious how that charger is still working out.

I am surprised no one mentioned the charging voltage You mentioned. It sure looks excessive to me. Also that you said it got warm. (Though the question is HOW warm...)

12v is almost 2.5X what the standard charger charges at. I would be very concerned about stressing the battery charging it with a higher voltage with the N4's not easily replaceable battery. I'd feel MUCH better if someone in Tech at LG said it was ok but I kind of doubt they would.

I'm looking for an alternate to the Official orb as it's a bit pricey and the newer model is even More pricey. :(

The phone is not receiving the 12 volts, the charger is. 12 volt's is what power goes into the charger, not what the charger puts into the phone. The charger puts out what it needs so the phone will receive 5 volts.

The phone gets mildly warm, and that is only if the phone is charging at the time you take it off the charger. (The phone charges, then the charger shuts off, then when it the phone charge drops 2 % or so, it starts charging again)

I use this every day and have not seen a drop in battery life.

Hope this helps.
