Widgets removed from screen on reboot

Hi.

I'm not super experienced with phones or technology. So I hope my question makes sense.

Whenever I turn off and turn on my phone, all the widgets are removed from the screen, and I have to manually add them back on. I'm just talking about simple widgets like the Music Widget and the News & Weather widget, so they're not some third-party widget that I have stored on an SD card. They're just simple widgets pre-installed on the phone.

I don't know why they disappear after a reboot. Could someone help me so that I don't have to manually put them back every time?

Thanks.

Hello and welcome to Android Forums, PurpleProf.

Are you sure you've got your app/widget icons etc placed on your default home screen? Try scrolling by swiping left or right on the screen a few times each way after a reboot.. if they appear on one of the adjacent screens, you need to use the screen indicators (dots at the top or bottom of most launchers) to get to the middle one, usually that's the default home screen, then place your items there.

Is it the stock launcher? TouchWiz? etc.. ?

Sprint Galaxy S4 user here. I think the same thing happened to me today. My weather widget disappeared from the home screen and when I try to put it back, it says the widget is already added to the screen. I added another larger widget (travel) successfully, removed it and tried weather again. Still says it's already added.

It worked earlier this AM and all I've done is install Helium premium, updated Yahoo mail and Watchon. Also ran Play Music for the first time with headphones and also did the adapt sound setup, at which time the widget disappeared. And just for giggles, pulled the battery.

WTF?

Followup to followup:

Just got back from the Sprint store and what she wound up doing was uninstalling Tasker and Elecont eWeather. Then the stock weather widget was able to be added. Both apps had been on my phone for several weeks, but who knows? I reinstalled Tasker, but will skip eWeather for now. So far, so good. Keeping my fingers crossed...
