Hi guys, firstly thank you for your help in advance. I recently bought an android box which has MoviePlayer built in as standard. This plays files far better than Xbmc, and as such I would like to call it in Xbmc as my external player. However, for the life of me I can't find the values/actual name of the app to use as an external player.

For example mx player is

com.mxtech.videoplayer.ad

I'd like this information for the default "Movieplayer" 1.73.

Included are screenshots of the app

Thanks again!

Hi,

according to pictures, this is Amlogic's MoviePlayer. Package name of it is com.farcore.videoplayer, but I'd rather try XBMC builds prepared for Amlogic platform 'cause they use hw decoding just like MoviePlayer. Try Pivos builds of XBMC or any other which is made for Amlogic platform.

Hey stane1983,

Thanks for the post and the help! I've tried directing playercore to use com.farcore.videoplayer as an external player in Xbmc, with no such luck. I've tried a fair few builds of pivos and droid tv xbmcs since my box is (Review of Bluetimes MX5 Android 4.2.2 Set-top Box) the bluetimes mx5 but none have worked (mostly they play audio fine but no video). Oh well. Thanks for the help though!

That's because Amlogic made few changes to it's LibPlayer libs which are not backwards compatible.

If there are more interested ppl here, I can prepare XBMC 12.2 to support Amlogic's JB 4.2.2 LibPlayer (source code release 2013-04-30 and newer; with older JB 4.2.2 sources Pivos xbmc works).

Stane, if You are still out there and alive, Please, take some time to try the magic you speak about here. I will even donate 10$ if you make this happen. I am also stuck with the Blutimes MX5 box, which had quite good reviews, but am experiencing terible sound-video out of sync outside the native Amlogic player. It seems like most people have this issue. Hope You get the message, find the time, and still have the inclination to throw yourself at this. Thanks!

I contacted Bluetimes and offered them xbmc completely prepared for their devices.

They are interested, we'll see what they have to say about my offer.

Hi just joined this forum.
I have 2 of this boxes and in order to use them without a "External player in use" error message each time I played video and tv streams I changed the XAF custom XBMC to Frodo 12.2 . This does mean no Hardware Accel which is an issue.

I have reported this to Bluetimes but they don't seem to have a solution so any help would great.

They have recently changed their firmware for the devices currently being shipped so maybe they found something.
