Root [ROM][ALPHA] CyanogenMod 10 for the LG Connect 4G MS840

Ah, okay....

You know since vv3 and vv4 no longer works (4G) with Metro/Tmobile wouldn't this cm10 have to be built on top of vv5? The only 2 firmwares that work now are ZVA and vv5.... Kinda sucks thanks to Metropcs and Tmobile being Corporate hacks now! LOL

I recently reset VV3 and rooted with absolutely no problems with 4G connectivity (California). I don't know anyone in my area that is having the problems you are experiencing (maybe we are just lucky :D).

Maybe it's luck.... But are you sure that Metro and Tmobile have merged their towers yet? That is when the trouble started for everyone here in Georgia.

Gave it a shot last night, probably not the best idea as it was such a tease. Can't wait for the official release!!!

Yea, but don't hold your breath... I have been waiting since PG posted the .zip file....
I don't think it will ever be finished. Metro has destroyed the Connect and are taking them back from customers. I can't even use my connect except on wifi. Here in GA the firmware s zva, vv3, vv4 and vv5 does not work anymore... It really blows!

I just lost 4G as well in sacramento area. I am running #2 rom currently and think it might be related to the merger. Kiroshi, did you try VV5? Maybe metro is just having a data hickup and it's not a ZVA issue (Yet). I'm going to try upgrading to latest stock when I get home to see if data comes back, but man I really love having a rooted debloted device.

PG, any new updates on the CM10 build? You think it will ever be finished, or has it been written off? That build would save this device.

The Metro/TMo merger may be a game changer for the Connect CM10. Who knows if any radio files from ZVA or VVx will work now. Hard to say, and PG is pretty busy :(

Looks like you guys will have to ditch ZVA as well as VV3. The only complaints about service issues I am seeing are on firmware below VV4. What PRL are you guys running? You should be on 3032
Currently running PRL 3029 on the #2 rom. Still going to try and update to VV5 and see if I'm in the same boat as kiroshi23. I noticed I don't get a 4g Mac address.

Try it. I think upping your phone to VV5 will allow you to use PRL 3032. That may help your connectivity issues. If you need revert back to earlier firmware (VV3 or earlier), make sure you factory reset before attempting to root if you planned on doing so, otherwise it will give you a permission denied error ;)

I heard in another post here that Metro will trade you a Motion for a Connect if you are having serious connection probs with your phone LOL.... I'd fight for at least a Premia 4G, which is a fair trade. A Motion is a slap in the face. I already own a Motion, don't want another one lol

Well I loaded stock VV5 (PRL 3032) back on and still no data.

I also paid full price for this phone, plus an extra like $100 because i bricked it (noob mistake of loading the wrong phones rom on, hard bricked it). :smokingsomb:

One thing I noticed is when I got my replacement the model number was LG-MS840V just like was printed on the back behind the battery. After using Lg's support tool it retrograded my software to ZVA (From VV4) and switched to 840, no V. Just something weird I noticed but I wonder if it's related to our problem. kiroshi, was your phone ever a 840V (does it have the V on the label behind the battery?)

Should we start a new thread on this?

Edit: I'm going to start a new thread. I'll update with link.
Edit2: New thread Lost 4G Connectivity (Even stock VV5)
