Samsung Ativ Tab 3 - has windows, spen, keyboard etc.

What are you going to do with your Note 10.1? Comparison of both?

This has windows and spen too! Price is said to be around $700! Is this faster then Note 10.1? Or slower? Samsung ATIV Tab 3 hands-on - YouTube

It looks pretty cool to me!

Samsung Mobile Press

I just got my note a few months back, so I'm not sure if I should have waited! I'm not sure on its artistic and note taking ability yet for ATIV 3.

This will come w/ a keyboard dock and is really thin! The note 10.1 still hasn't have a keyboard dock. It is very thin too.

If anything, I would still be more inclined to get the MS Surface Pro (yeah much more expensive at $999; tablet only). Still on my wish list and the tablet that will be a worthy upgrade/replacement to my Note 10.1.

The ATIV Tab 3 has an Intel Atom dual-core with HT running a full version of Windows 8 32-bit OS. That's not a powerful processor especially when coupled with a meager 2GB of RAM. This is definitely not a tablet I would consider for multimedia use. Low resolution screen (1366x768).

But at the price point mentioned, I'm better off saving up the extra $200+ and getting a better tablet with better hardware.

What would you do w/ your Note 10.1?

And does the surface pro have palm recognition?

Either put it up for ebay, sell to a friend/co-worker or pass it along to a sibling...

It does have palm-rejection from all the reviews I've seen. The drawback is that the MS Surface Pro doesn't have a slot for the pen. The pen is full sized and has a built-in eraser. The pen button is also annoying as it's not recessed in the body, but jutting out.

The other thing I wasn't too keen on is the one USB 3.0 port it has. I think it should have had 2 USB 3.0 ports minimum. But that's me.

At least with this tablet, I'll have the option for USB hub, USB to gigabit Ethernet, external HDD and other accessories.

Better hardware specs and more capable tablet than the Samsung ATIV series tablets in my view. Especially when looking for the best bang for the buck.

But, do they have a PHONE? No! End of case...

Ativ Q would be my next one, if it only had a phone too... The reason why i bought note 10.1 was a combination of a tablet with a pen and phone.

Note 10.1 has a phone?
Doesn't it depend on which one you get?
Yep. There are variants for the Note 10.1. The main difference being one model has phone and Wi-Fi capabilities and the other only Wi-Fi.

So dependent on the user. I already have a Note 2, so getting a tablet with phone really isn't my preference. Why I would rather get a MS Surface Pro tablet now if I had the funds. But that's just me.

Though with the Intel Haswell 4th generation chips being released into the market, I expect the next gen tablets to be coming out soon. And maybe dropping some prices of older gens. But maybe not...

I would agree that 2GB or RAM on a Windows 8 operating system is not nearly enough to make it usable. My current desktop eats up about 5GB or RAM when I have a lot of things loaded up onto it, and Google Chrome is a resource hog!! Uses about 2GB or RAM with about 15 tabs open.
