Root Really need some help here spending too much time

I'm kinda lost here I've spent countless hours searching and reading forums all to no avail. I have a virgin mobile optimus vm670. i initially rooted my device about a year ago. while messing around inside the phone i had bricked my device to where it could only load into fastboot. i fixed the problem with that but a few weeks later my battery exploded. i used the phone still but kept it plugged in due to the battery issue. About a week later the only thing that would load when i tried to turn on my phone was the lg logo and than it would power off. so i finally broke down and bought a new battery. i still have the same problem with my phone the only thing it will load other than staying on a boot loop with the lg screen before powering off is when i run it in emergency mode. i've spent the last four months travelling forums and videos to figure out how to fix this problem. it is a brand new battery a brand new charger and usb cord. i've tried kdz unbricker kp500. i've also tried to go through adb. i can't load the phone into any other mode than emergency download mode will someone please help me here i'm not really a n00b when it comes to these things but after so much time i figured it would be best to ask for some help before i spend the hours it would take to rewrite the entire firmware and software. i would really appreciate if someone could help me with this.

unsure...
not the kdz thread, but lgnpst... thought it required emergency mode.
although I though kdz would work in emergency mode, too.
dunno about download mode, only qpst has connected for me in that moed, and it wants weird filetypes I've not seen to flash with.
I'm pretty sure your talking about the "Unbricking Your Optimus V" thread. It is the one that uses the S firmware, right?

i think i remember the thread he's thinkging of and i cant find it now but even if i could he'd end up unbricked but unable to connect to 3g when all was said and done using lgnpst from download/emergency mode. best bet right now i think would be to keep trying with the kdz method and hold on to that as a last resort.

there was a file (or files) to back up after running lgnpst to make a backup before using it to flash firmware, which preserves the nvitems, but it's been so long since I messed with any of that, I've misplaced or lost the info.

using lgnpst only as a last resort is a good idea.

It's a .nvs file you're thinking of it gets generated when you read the phone but you need to be on a stock based rom, stock recovery or running some ics/jb roms to read it.

Edit: I forgot to mention cot recovery and xionia recovery allows lgnpst read also.
