Hello jangam keerthi.

The kinds of malfunctions you're describing could have many causes.. but my first thought was heat, either from having the device exposed to the sun, perhaps on a car seat, etc, or from a defective battery or charging circuit.

My second thought was water/moisture damage.

But then I started thinking that you may only need to clear cache and data on some 3rd party apps you've installed, or you may have to uninstall them if they turn out to be causing the issues as you test through them.

I'd start by shutting the device down, then removing the battery cover and battery, SIM card and sd card (all carefully, of course ;)). Then examine the battery contacts and the body of the battery itself, along with the contacts in the battery well where it connects.

If you find nothing abnormal, no scorch marks etc, look for water damage too. Look at the water indicator on the battery (on the battery compartment in some Tabs).. is it the normal striped indicator, or has it changed?

If nothing is abnormal in there, put it all back together and do a factory data reset from the recovery menu:

- With the device off, press and hold three keys: the volume up key + home key + power key.

- Keep holding until you see the white "...Galaxy Tab..." letters appear, then quickly release all three keys.

- After the little Android comes onto the screen, the recovery menu will appear. Use the volume down key to navigate to "wipe all data/factory reset" (or some such wording).

- Press power and allow the reset to take place, then when finished, the "reboot now" menu item will be highlighted; press power and let it boot up.

- You may have to reactivate your Google/Gmail account, then check for functionality of the device.
