Any way to prevent Google maps from updating

Does anyone know what "break market links" or whatever on Titanium does? does that stop you being notified about an update to an app?

P.s @Jef, i hate how Play store keeps nagging us to turn on automatic update :banghead:

That functionality of Titanium Backup no longer works. If you break a market link, at first all seems fine and the app is no longer in the "My Apps" view of Google Play, but after a few hours, or after a reboot of the device, they return. I have emailed the TB developer about this weeks ago, but never got a reply.

With more and more so called updates that break perfectly good versions (not only from Google), we really need this option. Wish there was another way to do it.

The TiBu dev didn't reply because it was already answered in the update logs a long time ago. For all intents and purposes he really should just go ahead and remove the option since Google isn't going to implement the feature.

Note: Current TiBU version (at the time of this post) is 6.0.5.1

Titanium Backup v4.8.4.1
"Added support for Google Play Store 3.5.15. Please note that Play Store is capricious with Market links because it relies more on Google’s servers than before. If you want more control we encourage you to ask Google. Remember: it’s their app. Let them know the legitimate goal you want to achieve (eg: simply detach an app that you purchased on a different app store) and ask them how the heck you’re supposed to do it. Once they provide a solution, we’ll strive to give you full control of it!"

This is why it's important that we take the time to read the changelogs when a dev has provided them (good ones will provide them right on their Play Store page).

yes, I have auto update turned off but then when I want to update everything else I have to update those one at a time instead of just hitting update all.

"If it ain't broke, don't fix it."

In mobile apps I've found that updates break stuff too often to install them when I don't need them. I have auto-updates turned off and, until I need a specific update, I don't install any.
