Help WIFI

I Know that there is another thread about this but i have to create my own, i hope not to earn your hate, well the thing is a couple of minutes ago i just reinstalled the OS on the tablet but the wifi connection didnt work the question is could it be the ROM ( i have the jeally bean 4.2.2 from cyanogenmod) or it is my router THOMSON TG585 v7 and how can a fix it if is the rom or if is the router

Hello again, Does your router have encryption?

When you enable wifi on the tablet does your router's SSID show up on a list, is there more/other peoples wifi showing?

Hello new optimus well, i see thw ssid of my router and i see other near by and i dont think my router have encryption I also have my s3 connected and it works fine and how can i know if my router have encryption.

on your s 3 go to the wifi and long press on your connection to the router, menu will come up modify is the one you want to press NOT FORGET NETWORK you dont want that to forget it. Now when you press modify a new box will come up it will say

Status connected
signal strength good
link speed
security- and this is the one you want to know,
wpa2 psk, the likely one but it could be other as well
Then it will say
password
That is what you would need if the router is encrypted.

ok you need the password/key to connect do you know who set up your router? You may need to contact them.

I may not be able to answer much my son is going in to the doc in the morning and its going to be a long day.

sorry to hear about your son I hope everything went ok, well i know the password of the router if i need to change any setings on it, then the ISP gave the router here in El Salvador is CLARO.

Ok Thank you, my son came through very well, as expected. It sounds like that passcode is the one you need to put into the phone to connect it to the router, have you tried that.
