cannot get Nova backup to work

Did you change the backup destination? The backup files save to internal SD card by default, you have to change backup destination on both the old device and the new device to a folder in the extsdcard. Also, you need to have all the same apps already installed on the new phone. Nova backup only saves icon shortcuts and widget placeholders.

Or just save it to the default place and move it to the sd card usin a file explorer then back again when u swap phones (probably the simplest way if u dont understand the file system)

On my phone, I don't have the option to change the backup location. It shows what the path currently is, but there is no option to change it.

I know how to use a file explorer to move files, but I'd rather not have to do that if I can help it.

So what am I missing?

Odd, I seem to remember being able to do that when I click that option.

it makes sense that you'd be able to, but I've never been able to do it.

I'm with GSgirl - it shows me the path but nothing happens when I click so I can't change it. I've got the Pro version as well (or whatever it's called).

Oops sorry ginger youre right pal. It cant be changed. Im with chan though lol im sure it used to change. Yup youll just have to move the file from /sdcard/data using a simple file explorer to anywhare on ext sd then move it back to the same place. Or upload it to dropbox.
sorry about that i should have tried tapping the box lol :)

I could be remembering it wrong or mistook another launcher for Nova. I have tried lots over the years. Just use a file manager to move the files around, or maybe use Helium backup?

helium backup doesn't seem to backup my nova configuration settings/layout. otherwise, I use it and it's great.

No worries, at least I know it's not me.
