Root Swap SD card for apps on One SV

I would like to know how to swap some memory from my sd card so I can use it to store my apps. I have a 16gb SD card

THIS WILL ERASE EVERYTHING ON YOUR SD CARD SO PLEASE MAKE A BACKUP OF EVERYTHING ON THE CARD ONTO YOUR PC OR OTHER STORAGE DEVICE*** Okay, if you go into CWM recovery go down to advanced and click it, then click partition SD card. When you partition an SD card you are cutting a piece of memory from it so it can be used for other purposes (in your case, storing apps). For example... i had a 16 GB sd card and partioned 1 GB from it. The SD card now reads that it has 15 GB of memory even though technically the other GB is still there. That other GB however has been seperated from the SD card itself and can now store things seperately from the SD card (even though its still on the card even though it wont show its on the card... confusing? I know but hang in there ). Now, select the amount of memory you want to "cut" from the card then when it ask you for the swap size just select zero (its what I used to do back when I had the OG Prevail). Once the partition is created you should download link2sd. The app will detect the partition and have you select what type it is. Select ext4 (i believe it is).With that app you can move downloaded or even some system apps to the partition which acts as a separate storage space. You may notice some of your regular internal memory go down (only by a couple of megabytes) but just download cache cleaner and clear it from time to time. Hope this helps!

I think foldermount is better and you don't have to accidentally brick your SD card, also they say you should have a class 10 SD card for that tutorial.

Foldermount? I've never heard of it before. Looked on Play and didn't see it either.

Another reply to Mike, I never buy anything less than a class 10 anymore. I figured if I'm going to buy it, I might as well buy the fastest ones they make.

Also to Wetbiker the free version only lets you bind three programs so I upgraded and its great.

Cool. I'm running link2sd now and it's working great. I haven't really needed it thus far but I went ahead and set it up just in case.


EDIT:

Well hell! I messed around and got Link2SD set up and things seemed to be running fine. I ran the phone for a day and then apps started to lag. I have no idea if it's due to Link2SD or something else I did to the phone. lol

As of right now I went ahead and wiped EVERYTHING. I took it back to the rooted stock CWM backup the Helo posted. I really need to go in and clean the ROM out this time too and get rid of all that junk that comes with the stock ROM. There's a good bit in there that I'll never use and it needs to be removed. Looks like I'm gonna be up for a bit! lol

I never had much luck with Link2SD. Maybe it is better now. But, if you are rooted and de-Bloated, I don't think I would use it.

I had horrible luck and messed up my SD card, I'd rather swap the memory inside of android

@ Mike, I really don't think luck had anything to do with it lol. I am constantly trying to get the most out of what I'm working with and I do believe that I altered something that didn't agree with my phone. LOL. I'll just start from scratch and try something different.
