Can't you update it? I did with my previous phones.I am still on gingerbread since i haven't bought a new phone since early 2012.Anyone still on Android version other than Jellybean ?
Last i checked, i read that GB still has the largest number of users. That's unfortunate for those who are stuck on it. I just made the jump from 2.3 to 4.2 and i will never go back.

i suppose its like tv, unless you see a coloured one youll be really happy with black n white
Don't think it's unfortunate or what you might expecting. Where I am, there's plenty Froyo and Gingerbread phones, mostly older or budget ones. People seem to be using them quite happily, as long as they still work, can do what they need, like phone calls, SMS, QQ, WeChat, MP3s, mah-jongg and poker games, etc. Even these are still better than what they had before, basic candy-bar and flip-phones.
I wouldn't want to go back to an older version like that now. Minimum of ICS for my uses now. TBH I've not seen too much to differentiate ICS 4.0.4 from Jellybean 4.1.2, apart from looking a bit different and improved accessibility for the visually impaired.
My Venture runs Gingerbread 2.3.5. No updates exist.
I just bought a Nook Simple Touch at Staples. It apparently has 2.1. I'll be rooting it soon but again, no updates that I know of.
What about Project Butter?
What about Project Butter?
Don't think I ever noticed it TBH. I was aware of Project Butter and what it was supposed to mean for Android. I've used various Chinese ICS devices, some really laggy and horrible, and some very good. I've got the Samsung phone with Jellybean now but I think that's more benefited because it's quad-core and has double the RAM of my previous ICS devices. I'm still using the ICS Lenovo phone as a small tablet and media player, but it's fine, it's not laggy and seems nice and responsive.
I could see that language support had improved, to make it more international, but I'm only using English and Chinese.
