Chromecast no longer has 3-month Netflix offer

Lots of reports that the promotion has been discontinued.

My theory.....demand was by far exceeded. So, this goes away until the initial rush dies and the Holidays kick in.

Procrastination got the best of me and I didn't pull the trigger on getting one the other day. Now it was almost impossible to find one much less with the Netflix offer.

So I went to ebay and bought one. There seems to be plenty of them there. Some are being sold way more but once in a while you do see one that is close to the actual price. I actually bought one there for $41. I also noticed that the ones being sold on ebay do have the Netflix offer (at least the one I bought).

Although originally I wanted another Google TV set-top box for the basement, (the one I have is in the bedroom), but this Chromecast would do fine for now.

Purchased one from Best Buy today (Tue. 7/30)....

The Netflix code was emailed to me pretty fast...

So, I assume that if you purchase in store... You may get the code...

The upside to me was that because I already have a Netflix account, the code gave me a 3 month credit...

Yep, the 3 months $24 credit for existing netflix customers essentially made jumping on it day 1 a no brainer. Chromecast for $12 bucks. Only down side is i had to wait till yesterday got get mine But free best buy shipping another incentive.

so when i got home, i immediately input the code into my existing Netflix account, and voila! 3-months free added to my account. temped to go back and get another Chromecast for another TV, and get another 3-months free.

I think they only let you apply it once per account....

Bought one on Craigslist the seller was kinda enough to give me the receipt with the code. Applied the code to my current netflix account and go 3 month free.. YEY!

Might wanna check for an expiration date on the download.

The ones I purchased from BEST BUY had expiration dates as early as 8/24/13.

The one I purchased directly from GOOGLE doesn't expire until 12/31/13.
