LG Esteem OTA update from metrpcs?

Hello everybody.
Todays morning I recieved a voice mesage from metro saying that I will get on august 11th a software update that will improve my 4g and phone.
Have anybody installed or received this update voa OTA?
I think is somethink good for us esteem users.

Hi chegarcia, I too received that message, though I think it said by Aug 11.

I think its the ZVE baseband update. My phone tried to get that several weeks ago but with custom rom and recovery it failed to install. I just updated using lg updater.

You are correct its the zve . When i spoke to them they told me that the corporate store can do this update . But its 3ways . One ota over the air . From the corporate store and you can do this from your home with the lg tool . Metro is telling lies and stories about this update . They want u to bring it in and waste your time and get into your business. But the corporate store near me said its not out yet they haven't sent him the cd . Me being noisy asking him what cd and if we need the cd . His answer was no . the cd is a newer lg update tool. So if u have this update tool erase it. Delete it:what: yes get rid of it and download the new lg tool from the LG WEBSITE . make sure you click on the first METRO PCS. and download all drivers even if you prompted that u have get the new drivers . . But this update is the zve .

Also metro say this update is to correct the lte 4g . But ask yourself this question .. Have you had 4g anytime u had service with metro i think we been cheated and this 4g lte was in the status bar and we was getting 3g . That is what i think and believe .ijs :banghead:

I too received this voice mail this morning and I'm worried that its just a refresh to software I already have. Last time I updated it totally killed my ROM and reset it to factory/bloatware.

So I went and rooted it again and luckily found a fresh ZVE compatible ROM. (I HATE bloatware).

So far the ZVE seems to give me a smidge better reception but it could just be me.

So should I update and risk locking out my ROM or is this a ZVE 1.1?

i called this morning and she could not even tell me what the update was about but she said in no way according to metro could you update with the lg tool.well i updated about 10 days ago and if it is the zve update it 's on my phone thur no help of metro.

I just went through the hassle to upgrade to ZVE last week. Has anyone bothered to accept the update and see what it actually does? I got the voicemail this morning and now I'm getting texts...annoying.

Nevermind...I see there is a new sticky with Metro's PSA.

If you downloaded and now dont wanna do this update and lose root, just goto the file and delete it...I have ES file manager so it was easy..

Where are you located at cause the three corprate stores i spoke to said the update ota wont be out till the 5th of August . So in my area u can't even get the store to do it cause its not out yet
