BEST Entry level Metro Android?

I have a friend who he and his wife both have Crackberry Curves. (I thought that was an inner city exercise gym for a minute. :p)

He may be looking to step up. Both he and wifey are not serious phone on line users I don't think.

Neither the Premia or the Avid are on the website anymore? Are they still for sale in stores? How much?

So far as I see that leaves the Asstray, Admire, Wildfire and Optimus +

Suggestions please?

Probably more than they want to spend.

I'd be surprised to see them go for a $100 phone actually.

Try again GM. :)

These are VERY basic users. They text as much as anything. Remember, they've been happy with Crackberry's  If they got one of the really cheapies, they'd do so knowing they have about 17 months left to use them.

they are on the bb hmm they should get a nice lil phone with keyboard, a slider phone from t-mobile

I had thought about that and you may very well be right D2, these ARE the types that could be a dealbreaker for. Unfortunately, they are also 2 hrs away in Panama City to the closest Metro store in Tallahassee. Interestingly, there IS a T-Mo store in PC.

They need to try out virtual keys first me thinks.

Both the Avid and Premia are still listed in my area....hmmm

4G - MetroPCS

Yes, this IS weird.

I think my Metro.com was set to Dallas zip to start.

My Ocala zip shows me the Premia and Avid here. I'd think the Premia there.

When I put Tallhassee's zip in, the closest store to him, all that's on the page are GSM phones.

Panama City before was I Think Extended Home but I know he's calling and texting and has been.

Now it is showing as a Home area as T-Mo Was in Panama City before.

IF they wanted to, I don't see why they couldn't have me buy and send them two cheap New CDMA phones from here and let them activate over the phone or on-line in Panama City.

[EDIT Correction] Panama City shows on the coverage map as a Home area now, though if you plug the zip in at Metro.com is says not a Metro area.

Hell if I know.
